As an California elementary school librarian I am always looking for books that will assist my students in meeting the standards set by the state. I purchased this book to review it to see if the books in this series would be helpful to my third and fourth grade students who are required to study California Native Americans as part of the curriculum. I found this book to be a very good source of information. The book is a 48 page stapled softcover(this is the only negative as the shelf life is minimal). All illustrations are in black and white. An outline is included as a quide for report writing. I will be purchasing the rest of the series.
