5.0 out of 5 stars My first game
I received a PS2 this Christmas and CoD3 was the first game I played. I had not played the other 2 so I can't compare. For me I had fun with this game. It was many hours of play.

Basically your rotate between scenes playing the Americans, British SAS, Poles, and Canadians.

Game play took a little for me as I was not used to the game...

versus
2.0 out of 5 stars Why this game flat out sucks
Want to know why you shouldn't buy this game? The unoriginal gameplay and the crippling controls, A army shooter you say? Meet Counter-Strike, Medal of Honer and Battlefield.
And the controls are so crappy i didn't even know how to turn around

I received a PS2 this Christmas and CoD3 was the first game I played. I had not played the other 2 so I can't compare. For me I had fun with this game. It was many hours of play.

Basically your rotate between scenes playing the Americans, British SAS, Poles, and Canadians.

Game play took a little for me as I was not used to the game controller but I did pick it up.

Probably the hardest for me was hill 262 with the Poles. One that took a bit was defending a town(I forget which part of the game) but it involved finding areas to blow with gas mains.

Some weapons were short for ammo, especially if you shoot a great deal. The German weapons taken from the dead didn't seem to remain for a long time so you have only so much time.

The hand to hand scenes seemed way to easy and the rifle but attack seemed hard (probably due to my lack of experience with the game controller).

There are extras on the game. You can see art work, the movies in the game and interviews with some WWII veterens. No German vets however.

Overall I am happy with the game and will replay it and see if things are different.

Do get a memory card as the game does auto saves.

4.0 out of 5 stars Still answering the call for the PS2, December 9, 2006
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Call of Duty 3 (Video Game)
With the current gen system's life cycles dwindling down ever so much, it's nice to see that Activision ported Call of Duty 3 to the PS2. It's even nicer to see that Call of Duty 3 looks surprisingly good and plays nearly as good as it does on next-gen systems. You know the setting, you know the story. The only thing you may not know about Call of Duty 3 is that the graphics, while not without some hiccups, look pretty good for a PS2 game, and the sound and audio effects are simply superb. Seriously, this game has some of the best sound effects you will hear in a PS2 game. The online multiplayer is a blast to play too, but what really hurts the game is that the PS2 online play can get really choppy. That aside though, the single player mode is still very engaging and overall fun, but as a whole, Call of Duty 3 isn't really all that different from last year's Call of Duty 2: Big Red One for the PS2. That could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on the player, so fans who may be looking for something different from what they usually get may be a little disappointed. Not to mention that while the single player mode may be great, it is pretty short. All in all though, Call of Duty 3 is still an excellent first person shooter, and should definitely be checked out by all those who aren't looking to dive into the next-gen just yet.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very fun but too easy(on normal difficulty), January 12, 2007
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

Call of duty 3 is a great game. the action and graphics are amazing. You also learn about WW2 weapons and see interviews with real veterans from not only the U.S. but a Polish soldier and a Canadian or British (i can't remember which right now). I have one problem, it is too easy. It didn't take long to beat and some of the levels only take five or so minutes to beat. there are only about 15 or 16 levels (somewhere in there). It is great, just too easy. Also, you can't skip the movies, you have to watch them every time you start a level. I do suggest you get it. (I am now adding something later if you play the game on hard, the difficulty is much harder. Not just a little, give the game challange even if you have beat it once or twice on normal.)

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME, July 16, 2009

This game is a huge stepup from Cod2: BRO. the first major thing i like is that there are no more health meters. when u are hit, the screen gets all red and u have to find cover before being hit again. There are 14 levels. The player that u play is Pvt. Nichols. The multiplayer is also good. There are classes that depends on what gun u get and if u get grenades. It isn't really gorey but there is blood - i'm 10 years old and i'm playing it. So this is one of two great call of dutys.

4.0 out of 5 stars LOTS OF FUN.....AND EASY!, August 29, 2007

I enjoy playing video games, particuarly military style games. I do not consider myself an excellent player by any means. With that being said, this game will deffinitely please the novice player as well as the experienced one. The game has many save points so that if you are killed you can pick up from where you left off without having to go back to the beginning. I truely enjoyed both the graphics and sound....not to mention the cut scenes where the acting was very good. I would highly recommend this game.

4.0 out of 5 stars Am I the only PS2 owner left? So Call Of Duty 3...., November 11, 2006
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Call of Duty 3 (Video Game)
Just to let you know, I have played and finished every Medal Of Honor & Call Of Duty game for both the PS2 and Gamecube. So how does Call Of Duty 3 stack up to the previous installments? Graphically it has some smoke and texture detail that is unmatched on the PS2. As far as overall graphics, it does fall below Medal Of Honor European Assault. Many of the levels are heavily textured, but it all just blends together and sometimes looks messy. The sound is great as well as the music. This game is STUNNING on the Xbox 360 and that is the version to play if you can. The levels are basically the same on every console version but the PS2 has a tough time keeping up and begins to show its age on this title. If you have a PS2 and like this series then pick it up. It's more of the same with some nice added touches (like hand-to-hand fighting, very crowded battlefields & smoke grenades). I will play it through and eventually re-buy it for the 360.....

In my 11-year-old opinion i think that Call Of Duty 3 is the best war game ever, because the game has the best graphics I'VE(notice the capitals in i've.) ever seen.It takes place in Saint Lo World war 2.It has hero songs that sound totally AWESOME!!!You get to play as different nationalitys like the French, the Americans, and the Polish. You get to drive Vehicles and play in a tank. You get to experience what war heros went through to defeat the Nazis. You get to play in different skill levels like easy, medium, and hard. When you beat the game you are accessed to the stats of the people you play with and Axis and Allies' guns.At the last level you get to play with Bazookas and Flaks.Like i said,i think Call of Duty 3 is the best war game EVEEEEEEER!!!!!
