Outnumbered and Outgunned, but Not Outmatched.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is an extraordinary step forward for one of the largest entertainment franchises of all-time. This new chapter in the Call of Duty franchise features a new dynamic where players are on the side of a crippled nation fighting not for freedom, or liberty, but simply to survive. Fueling this all new Call of Duty experience, the franchise’s new next-gen engine delivers stunning levels of immersion and performance, all while maintaining the speed and fluidity of 60 frames-per-second across all platforms.

Single Player Campaign

Ten years after a devastating mass event, America’s borders and the balance of global power have changed forever. As what’s left of the nation’s Special Operations forces, a mysterious group known only as “Ghosts” leads the fight back against a newly emerged, technologically-superior global power. A New Call of Duty Universe: For the first time in franchise history, players will take on the underdog role with Call of Duty: Ghosts; outnumbered and outgunned, players must fight to reclaim a fallen nation in an intensely personal narrative. Gamers will get to know an entirely new cast of characters and visit locales in a changed world unlike anything seen in Call of Duty before.

In Call of Duty: Ghosts you don’t just create a class, you create a soldier, a first for the franchise. In the new Create-A-Soldier system, players can change the physical appearance of their soldier by choosing the head, body type, head-gear and equipment, and for the first time in a Call of Duty game, the player can also choose their gender. With 20,000 possible combinations, this is the most flexible and comprehensive character customization in Call of Duty history. New dynamic maps are the evolution of multiplayer. They include interactive elements and player triggered events that make the environment evolve as each match goes on. The entire landscape can shift and force players to change tactics and strategies. Call of Duty: Ghosts introduces new tactical player movements. The new contextual lean system now allows players to lean around obstacles without adding button combinations or fully leaving cover. The new mantling system allows fluid movement over objects, while maintaining momentum. The knee slide allows for a natural transition from sprinting crouching to prone. Call of Duty: Ghosts delivers over 20 NEW Kill Streaks in Call of Duty: Ghosts - such as Juggernaut Maniac, the Helo Scout, the Vulture and the ODIN Strike. Players can even bring in guard dog Riley, from the single-player campaign, to protect and also to attack enemies. There are also over 30 NEW weapons, including an entirely new weapon class: Marksman Rifles.

Build your team and take up to 6 of them into battle in the all new Squads mode. This mode takes the best parts of the multiplayer experience and allows you to play either solo or cooperatively with the custom soldiers created and leveled up in multiplayer. The load-out choices you make for your Squad members will directly change the AI behavior of your squad-mates. Give your soldier a sniper rifle and he’ll behave like a sniper, and an SMG guy will be more run and gun.

A completely new one to four player, co-op game mode featuring a unique blend of fast-paced survival gameplay, base defense, player customization and class leveling. Teamwork and communication are essential when playing Extinction, as your team faces an inhuman menace that has overrun an isolated Colorado town and you must eliminate the threat via any means necessary.

So, yes the Wii U didn't get the bonus map at launch, and it doesnt have DLC at launch. They've already stated they will evaluate DLC for the Wii U when they see how it sells.

But guess what... on no other console can you play 2 player locally with one person on the gamepad screen and one on the full TV.

On no other console can you control your player with the wiimote, which kinda plays like you're holding an actual weapon (whether this is enjoyable or not is another issue).

On no other console can you plug your headphones from your phone/mp3 player/ipod/android into the gamepad and have voice chat without an expensive bluetooth headset.

On no other console can you play CoD: Ghosts off-screen on the gamepad while someone else watches TV On the big screen.

The graphics are on par if not a bit better than the PS3 version, which is admittedly better looking than the XB360 version. Is it on par with the PS4 and XBone? No. But those consoles aren't even out yet.

These other reviewers are being bitter, but guess what... the Wii U version is just as good, if not better than, the PS3 and Xbox360 version aside from the lack of DLC, which may come later, and which isn't even release yet in general (except the Free Fall bonus map).

I've been playing all COD titles ever since the Wii, like World at War, Black Ops, Modern Warfare, and when I found out Black Ops 2 was available for the Wii U, in HD, I jumped right on it and even bought the Wii U because of it. The reason why I prefer the Wii U to play these FPS games is because I'm able to use the Wiimote. I'm really bad at using the analog controllers, whether it be via Gamepad, CCPro, or even DS3 for PS3, but I'm very proficient at using the Wiimote and guess what.... it's loads of fun. At first I was pretty bad at using the Wiimote, it was frustrating, but I stuck with it and I'm glad I did.

So here's our setup: I use the TV with the Wiimote and my son uses the Gamepad. We both have great experiences this way. We are spoiled now, we can never back to playing split screen, we tried.

Yeah yeah, there's no DLC, no bonus map, the community is much smaller, I knew that going in and I'd pay full price if I had to do it again because I know it will gives me numerous of hours of fun, just like the previous titles did. Also, the graphics are great, comparable to the other consoles. Even though my friends make fun of me because I have the Wii U version and they have Xbox or PS3 versions, they always comment on how great the graphics look.

As far as multiplayer goes, the maps are big, but I'm sure as we get more familiar with them it will appear smaller. It can get frustrating at times also because I'm shooting a guy and I am getting hits and waiting to get the kill, then he starts firing back at me and I die instantly. That's when I shout at the TV. But whatever, it is what it is, and all COD titles appear to have some variety of this.

I highly recommend this game and so far we are having fun with it. I foresee it bringing us hours of fun until the next title is released.

Ok first off, The graphics and frame rates are just as good, maybe even better then the 360 and PS3 version. The campaign is short but maybe the best C.O.D campaign I have played. ( I haven't played Call of Duty: Black Ops II - Nintendo Wii U yet at this time. But I'm going to) The controls are really awesome, and all the controller options you can use besides the gamepad are cool, Like being able to use the Nintendo Wii Remote Plus - Black/Wii Nunchuk Controller - Black Classic controller for Nintendo Wii Wii Classic Controller Pro - Black, and the Nintendo Wii U Pro Controller - Black . Multiplayer. I haven't been able to play online as of this time, But the split screen is so cool, One player can play it just on the gamepad and the other can have the whole tv to his/her self (sadly the Wii U split screen only goes 2 players) but you can throw in bots and have a fun time learning the maps and killing them. I haven't gotten to play the other modes. I did very little of the extinction. and it was fun for what little time I did. speaking of using the gamepad you can play the whole game on just the gamepad. or if you can play it on the TV but can't have the volume up or have to have it off, you can go to the options and change the sound output to Wii gamepad. So over all, GET THIS GAME. it is awesome.

With the spate of major game companies and 'cool gamers' all trying to laugh off the Wii-U because it doesn't cost you 2 arms and a leg to buy, I was *more than happy* to lay down my money for Treyarch and Infinity Ward when they put in the work to bring Ghosts to the Wii-U.

Pay attention, Game Manufacturers. Us Wii-U folk also want to *give you money for good games*. Aren't you about making money?

I don't have the fatigue of the CoD series that a lot of people have, as I never felt compelled to buy every title in the series out of habit. I picked the ones that interested me, and it's kept the series way more interesting to me over the years.

The visuals are stunning, and the gameplay is very crisp. It can do the Master/Pro controller setup, but it can also handle the really fun Wii-Mote/Nunchuk combo to get a more 'wield the firearm' experience they had in previous version.

Weapons are pretty balanced, with only a few 'overpowered' aspects to a few weapons from the wide selection. If you have good aim, or can develop it, you can overcome most of those advantages by just being the better shot and learning the maps.

I was hoping for a bit more creativity in using the Master Controller as an expansion of your HUD in mulitplayer, but it does offer a full detail map and pings, as well as loadout selection. Not bad, but that Master Controller display is begging for someone to bring something unique to a Wii-U FPS Experience that none of the other 'big boy' systems decided to do.

However, you still get the Wii-U bonus of being able to play on the MC while the TV is otherwise occupied.
