Outnumbered and Outgunned, but Not Outmatched

Call of Duty: Ghosts is an extraordinary step forward for one of the largest entertainment franchises of all-time. This new chapter in the Call of Duty franchise features a new dynamic where players are on the side of a crippled nation fighting not for freedom, or liberty, but simply to survive. Fueling this all new Call of Duty experience, the franchise’s new next-gen engine delivers stunning levels of immersion and performance, all while maintaining the speed and fluidity of 60 frames-per-second across all platforms.

Single Player Campaign

Ten years after a devastating mass event, America’s borders and the balance of global power have changed forever. As what’s left of the nation’s Special Operations forces, a mysterious group known only as “Ghosts” leads the fight back against a newly emerged, technologically-superior global power. A New Call of Duty Universe: For the first time in franchise history, players will take on the underdog role with Call of Duty: Ghosts; outnumbered and outgunned, players must fight to reclaim a fallen nation in an intensely personal narrative. Gamers will get to know an entirely new cast of characters and visit locales in a changed world unlike anything seen in Call of Duty before.

In Call of Duty: Ghosts you don’t just create a class, you create a soldier, a first for the franchise. In the new Create-A-Soldier system, players can change the physical appearance of their soldier by choosing the head, body type, head-gear and equipment, and for the first time in a Call of Duty game, the player can also choose their gender. With 20,000 possible combinations, this is the most flexible and comprehensive character customization in Call of Duty history. New dynamic maps are the evolution of multiplayer. They include interactive elements and player triggered events that make the environment evolve as each match goes on. The entire landscape can shift and force players to change tactics and strategies. Call of Duty: Ghosts introduces new tactical player movements. The new contextual lean system now allows players to lean around obstacles without adding button combinations or fully leaving cover. The new mantling system allows fluid movement over objects, while maintaining momentum. The knee slide allows for a natural transition from sprinting crouching to prone. Call of Duty: Ghosts delivers over 20 NEW Kill Streaks in Call of Duty: Ghosts - such as Juggernaut Maniac, the Helo Scout, the Vulture and the ODIN Strike. Players can even bring in guard dog Riley, from the single-player campaign, to protect and also to attack enemies. There are also over 30 NEW weapons, including an entirely new weapon class: Marksman Rifles.

Build your team and take up to 6 of them into battle in the all new Squads mode. This mode takes the best parts of the multiplayer experience and allows you to play either solo or cooperatively with the custom soldiers created and leveled up in multiplayer. The load-out choices you make for your Squad members will directly change the AI behavior of your squad-mates. Give your soldier a sniper rifle and he’ll behave like a sniper, and an SMG guy will be more run and gun.

A completely new one to four player, co-op game mode featuring a unique blend of fast-paced survival gameplay, base defense, player customization and class leveling. Teamwork and communication are essential when playing Extinction, as your team faces an inhuman menace that has overrun an isolated Colorado town and you must eliminate the threat via any means necessary.

3.0 out of 5 stars Treyarch > Infinity Ward November 9, 2013
Platform for Display:PLAYSTATION 3|Edition:Hardened
I picked up this edition mainly to get the "Free Fall" map and the exclusive player card/background digital content looked decent. I've been a pretty big fan of the COD series and bought all of them so far. Each time I have grown just a bit more and more disappointed that I spent the full $60 for a game that his improved or even changed very little each time. After downloading the newest required patch it was time to finally jump in to this new "Extinction Mode" to kill some aliens! Oh...apparently you have to do some unknown combination of either complete at least the first mission of the campaign or play several multiplayer matches for it to appear on the main menu screen, Okay I thought, this isn't a big deal, I was going to mainly play multiplayer anyways!

MULTIPLAYER: So here I am fumbling and bumbling my way through the new menu, load out, perk and weapon selection screens trying to figure out what to choose from the very limited amount of options I've been given. First impression...uhhh, these menus are garbage and jumbled compared to the ones on BLOPS 2. Oh well, after picking my poison it's time to jump into my first match. Loading...loading andddd loading...hmmm that was roughly double the amount of time it takes for match-making and map loading on BLOPS 2. Finally it go time! WTF, why do the graphics look worse than COD WAW? I mean, yikes this is a major step back in terms of map detail, player models and even weapons. After seeing this I immediately began to feel sick as if some money hungry corporation had just stolen $119 from me! Ok, ok, I'm going to give this a chance so I play several hours and although the graphics, colors and even some of the maps grow on me overall I'm very underwhelmed!

4.0 out of 5 stars Rating Content NOT Game November 13, 2013
Platform for Display:PLAYSTATION 3| Edition:Hardened|Verified Purchase
The Bracelet that came with the Hardened edition is of very high quality and has is semi adjustable to fit different size wrists. The metal game case is nice and it has the Season pass which is good for people who buy all the dlc. It also comes with a code for the freefall map plus character head and background in the case.

As a side note if you gained COD elite founder status you will get an emblem and title.

3.0 out of 5 stars I like but don't like it... November 9, 2013
Platform for Display:PLAYSTATION 3| Edition:Hardened|Verified Purchase
I had high expectations for this game! I am a fan of most of the COD games, COD4: Modern Warfare being the one I got started on. I'll be honest and say that when I got the game and started to play the Multiplayer I was a little thrown off. Infinity Ward went a totally different direction when trying to include character customization into the game. Everything was different in how you customize your loadouts and your barracks stuff (e.g. player card, clan tag and such). I am a huge fan of Black Ops II and how everything is laid out for customization (which I still don't like some of it, however that's beside the point). I've also noticed that you have a little less weapon options in Ghosts.

The way they have set the menu's up to customize is so different that I almost don't like it, at all. It's going to take some getting used to how it is all laid out. You have a few more options that you can do (aside from character customizing) like perks. I do like how many perks and the type of perks they have for Ghosts. It's laid out a little better with perks than Black Ops II is. I noticed that the points system has changed, making it more difficult to unlock new stuff. I liked the way Black Ops II was with how things became available at certain ranks, but you also accumulated enough points to actually "purchase" what you wanted without worrying about it... so that new points system in Ghosts is a little annoying. I noticed that the graphics were a little lacking but I actually kind of expected that, and not in a bad way. I knew they would give up the graphics a little bit for the PS3 version in order to allow the butt-load of other information needed for everything else!

5.0 out of 5 stars My Honest Review May 11, 2014

Platform for Display:PLAYSTATION 3| Edition:Hardened|Verified Purchase
Okay this game's story is amazing it has one of them back and forth type of plays.Well it takes around 4-5 hours to beat the story which is great. Now the on-line part since this is still a new game and still getting updates/patches it's gonna have some issues but that shouldn't stop you/make you not wanna play the game. Now if you loved Mw3 this game is so! meant for you as this feels like a Mw3 remastered. Now what comes with Hardened Edition first you get the amazing box which has a paracord ghost bracelet and a season pass for 4 dlc's and free fall digital download as well as a soundtrack download totally wroth the 60 bucks IMO hope this helps someone thinking about getting this game.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible November 16, 2013
Platform for Display:PLAYSTATION 3| Edition:Hardened|Verified Purchase
Wasn't what I expected. No wonder I only had Treyarch games. Infinity ward sucks. None of their games amazed me. I thought this one would surely but nope, just a complete let down. Save your money. I spent 135 for the hardened edition and I greatly regret it.

By far the worst cod in the series bad maps worse then mw3, HUGE maps much to big for 6v6, I personally have to focus my eyes to see other players depending on the maps, this perk system in my opinion is pretty bad I prefer blops2/past cod perk systems, you die faster in this game then in any other game cod game, I have not used snipers but it appears quick scoopers are a lot harder to kill in this game than in any other cod game, the maps are so big yet for some reason you can still spawn I front or behind people, I can't find the connection bar so I can never figure out how laggy people are, people still shoot around corners don't think that will ever be fixed, takes a lot longer to lvl IMO, there is no SnD CTF, (my 2 favorite games) although I can tell that I'd hate playing SnD in 12 out of 14 maps, lots of campers seems the maps really encourage camping IMO I myself ended camping, as much as I hate it, foot steps sound like marching bands except you will never figure out if they are on the first floor or the fifth floor, many pointless perks such as strong arm which helps you throw grenades etc further, ICU increases health regeneration etc, they still have support classes they still have specialist classes(I highly dislike both of these), the dog killstreak takes 7 rounds to die yet humans die in 2/3 op IMO, graphics are not great ( it's a game I understand), there is no barebones and hardcore consists of 3 game types, for me I either do great or I do horrible, in all honesty I hate the game wish there I could give it 0 stars infinity ward tried making a battle field and failed horrendously if you like playing in big teams big maps go to battlefield if you like medium sized maps 6v6 arcade kinda game go to cod with an exception to cod ghosts it's like they combined all the bad thing of cod and bf

Love all the cod FPS games, but do SOMETHING about the freaking cheaters, like 300 kill point, auto aim bot, and so on, it is ruining the on line games. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Good, But expensive
The hardened edition is good considering you get the Season Pass for maps. But it's still a boat load of money to drop yearly on a video game.
