Jay, I applaud you on this project.  This kind of writing is difficult but you've done a great job.  I'd imagine that the process of writing this has been therapeutic in some ways. Jeff Csatari

Reading your manuscript, I'm reminded of writers Pat Conroy and Bret Lott. Your writing is gentle and reflective, yet honest--perfect for the subject matter presented.

A Call to Faith is an honest look into the consequences and reality of a young vibrant person stricken with cancer. The story takes you on the journey that is filled with raw emotion, fear and questions that bring to life the depth of facing a life threatening disease with life threatening treatments. Faith and love of his children and parents allow Skip to climb from the black hole that tried to consume him. A page turner and great read for anyone wanting a better understanding of the mental journey cancer patients travel.

I have read Jay's book and it was both compelling and thought provoking. Most of us (me included) never want to consider what we might do if faced with the tough challenges others face in life. When you listen to what Jay went through, and you see how he fought through it, you will see a great example of "faith in action." Thank you for sharing it with me.

After reading this book, I have an even greater appreciation for the new life I have as a believer. Thomas' heartfelt introspection chronicles his journey from worldly success to the true treasures found only in Christ. A Call to Faith dares us to clear the obstructions of our frenetic culture and discover that which holds real significance.

I had the honor of reading this book before it was published and was blown away by such an inspiring story of triumph over adversity. This book made me laugh and cry as I read such a beautiful example of Philippians 4:13. A Call to Faith is an inspiring journey into the life of a cancer survivor.

It is a rare thing when an author is capable of baring their soul so fearlessly while maintaing the briskness and pacing of a detective novel. This book will inspire, provoke, challenge, and demand introspection, but most of all, it will entertain.

How does one survive? Enjoying a carefree life and young worldly success, Thomas could never know the devastating trials awaiting his future. The true blessing is his Call to Faith. This book is an honest and heartfelt story of ones mans devastating experiences, which God has lead him through. There is much hope to be found in these pages, an inspiring and worthwhile read. The true miracle in this journey is Thomas finding the Lord and learning the struggles he endured are worth his eternal salvation.

I'm amazed to believe that the book's main character (Skip) lived through such incredible adversity. There were so many points in time where his life was so in the balance that his call to faith had to be part instinctive. I've been through cancer with family members who were older, but its quite another thing for someone so young. Thomas does a great job of turning Skip's epic fight to survive into an an easily readible book. A great read for anyone that wants to be inspired by the true human spirit.

I read this book in two days -- I could not put it down! Mr. Thomas (Skip) had and still has, a tougher row to hoe than most of us. Whatever your walk in life, believer or non-believer, you will find Jay's life passage remarkable! His story is one of heart break, extraordinary perseverance and a renewal of faith when faced with extreme sorrow, pain and loss. This book would make a GREAT gift. It can be an inspiration to families of those living with cancer or survivors alike.

JT's book illustrates an incredible journey from what can only be described as the darkest of days to a bright future. This book is inspiring and should give one pause to reflect upon one's priorities and what is important. I was a classmate and friend of JT's at Gettysburg College. The years have passed. Fortunately, my travels now bring me to Charleston periodically, and I look forward to reconnecting with JT.
