Farewell and Blessed Be,
By
This review is from: Call of the Goddess 2011 Wall Calendar (Calendar)
All good things must come to an end, and 2011 is the final year for production of Call of the Goddess calendar and greeting cards. Thank you for the support, many kind letters, and emails sent over the years! As an independent, self representing artist working outside the fine art and publishing communities, it's nice to hear from individuals who relate to what I'm creating... and who are creating in their unique own ways.
You can always stop by my website, fineartamerica, etsy or facebook pages to say hello! Blessed Be, Helena

I have only just discovered the Call of the Goddess calendar, and am broken-hearted to learn that this will be the last year it is in production. Filled with dark beauty and sacred symbolism, this art speaks directly to my soul.

I buy this calendar for several years now. I am "in love" with this calendar. It's full with colour and the paintings
representing nature in a female vew is something that I like very much. I will always have one in my home!!! It's not only a calendar but a beautiful painting which changes every month!

I really enjoyed the peaceful, calming art of this calendar. Only one of the images was not to my liking, and even that one is growing on me. So often I find myself wondering how certain art made it into a pagan, witch or goddess calendar. All of these images seemed appropriate to the theme as well as appropriate to the time of the year they were featured. I found the artwork very soothing.
I also enjoyed the little information blurb that is included below the calendar grid for each month. In that area, the artist shares her feelings and thoughts on the time of the year, as well as sharing such things as the symbolism included in the art featured that month. I found that I really enjoyed reading these portions which were informative, often inspiring, and yet not so long as to obscure the true reason for the product (that being a calendar). The main calendar grid is rather blank, making it a nice selection for someone who would like to use it for scheduling. The major pagan holidays and holidays of other religions are featured, but otherwise the grid area remains mostly open for use. Overall I felt this was a lovely and more subtle calendar than others of similar nature. Sad to read that this will be the last year (though I just discovered it this year) but I will enjoy it while it lasts!

I purchased this as a gift and had to fight myself from keeping it! The artwork is beautiful and the information included for each month is very information and interesting.
I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in beauty, and especially those who appreciate the emergence and rise of the Goddess Religions again. But buy if for the beauty alone.

The beautifully detailed paintings of goddesses are intriguing to me. The artist has included so many carefully chosen items related to each goddess, I have fun just discovering them all each month. And I find that the beautiful representations of such powerful women makes me feel powerful, too. I've just discovered this line of calendars, and I am quite sad to know that there won't be any more.

Last year I bought Helena Nelson-Reed's Call of the Goddess calendar and loved it, so naturally I had to have the new one as well. I can look at her paintings for hours and still discover new details. Further more it is the perfect calendar for everyone who likes mythology and love their Goddess.

I ordered calendars as gifts. I did not realize the calendar was for last year!! How sad to select something from a group of 2009 that was 2008. I should have paid more attention, Amazon should not have included it in the 2009 collection. |
