More About the Author

The true story of Shawn Underhill may never be fully realized to the world at large. Theories and rumors abound, ranging from the fantastic to the absurd, but none can be entirely trusted.

Most scholars agree that he is certainly a devoted admirer of Jack London, while less credible claims suggest that he is loosely related to the novelist, merely adopting the false name Underhill as a means to anonymity. The most bizarre of all rumors state that Mr. Underhill actually is Jack London reincarnate, that in his spare time he pilots experimental aircraft on dangerous test missions, and is slated to appear on DWTS.

Attempts by this biographer to uncover solid evidence have proven frustrating at best, and dangerous at worst. Establishing contact with Mr. Underhill's family in the slim hope of acquiring trustworthy information has been, for the most part, an exercise in futility.

The most viable explanation came by a series of mysterious phone calls leading to a secret meeting with an individual claiming to be Shawn's second cousin. This unnamed source (who only spoke with me under cover of darkness behind a Dunkin Donuts off highway 93 in rural New Hampshire) states that the author was last known to be located within his secret writing cave--a high mountain fortress, heavily defended by steep ledges and rushing waterfalls. The grounds near the secret trail leading to the hidden entrance are said to be patrolled day and night by wolves, watchdogs and bears.

In an interesting side note, UFO's and Bigfoot sightings have been reported in the general area of Mr. Underhill's alleged stronghold, but none have been officially confirmed by any reputable organizations.

The author's Facebook page, Shawn Underhill (Author) is the only known source of contact he has with the outside world.

I can't do that. Both books one and two were very enjoyable reads for me. I no sooner finished with book one I Silver White than i popped over here to Amazon to find more. I was glad to find another book, but oh so not happy that there was as yet, only one! This is a story that draws you in, the characters become important to you and you will want to know what happens next. I was so sorry to see The Call end, that I promptly ran to Facebook to see if I could find the author and see if more books were on the way. I have heard that a new book is underway. So if you liked Silver White and The Call, don't despair, there will be more. In the meantime, I will try something else from this authors page. I am not close to being a YA, but I am an avid reader. A reader who doesn't like labels...

I would recommend this one, but I also recommend that you read the first book first, because you won't want to miss it.

Once again we see another amazing book from Shawn Underhill, his books have been captivating and irresistible making it difficult to put the book down, hands down I think this is yet another success of Shawn by making a very interesting extension to the series and more is also to come which is great news to me.

This one is a continuation of the previous book and I strongly advise you to read the first one before grabbing this one, although it may be unnessecary advice as most people would know this.

Other than my rambling overall, the story was once again flawless and I enjoyed the book very much while reading it, I can't wait to see more in the future from him and I hope it is a long lived series and gets more publicity.

This book was the best book I have read for a long while. It kept me in much suspense for much of the story. The only thing keeping me from giving it five stars was that too little had happened in the story and was a somewhat of a slow read three fourths of the way into the book. Other than that it was a great book

There is something about the tone of the book that soothes my mind and warms my heart. (All of this author's books usually infuse me with this peculiar but pleasant sensation). Unlike some other contemporary books, this one isn't simply written for the sake of embellishment. Nor is it intended to create a romance that transcends time or that makes people shriek and wiggle until their toes explode. This story is about a special community and their struggle to protect their legacy, values and identity. It is my personal discovery that most of the details or descriptions offer worldly wisdom and depth. I love Evie, but I love Ed, Joseph, Abel, and Lars even more. Each man carries a sense of dignity and compels respect. Given the chance, I think I'd like to really understand them from a man's perspective. Sadly, I'm just a girl in this case, so maybe I don't fully grasp the profound meanings behind their words and actions.

I hope whoever reads this book will love it like I do.

This book seriously had my heart racing! I love Evie. I was really hoping she would take interest in a guy in this one but who knows maybe the next? Its a great read as well as the first one. I dont like Erica but after seeing how their uncle acts with the girls I decided I liked him. So while im thrilled Erica went off I wish Evie and Able spent more time together. However it just might do some good for the family. Maybe now Evie can spend time with her grandfather and David (if she can handle it) without having Erica there being controlling. I look forward to reading the next book!

I was so pleased to read the next book in this series. I am still so impressed with the author's way of bringing the story to life with beautifully desciptive passages. And in this story he pulled the reader along through incredibly action-packed sequences that left me on the edge of my seat.
It was great to feel even more invested in the original characters as their journeys unfolded and I was surprised to feel so attached to the new character Lars. I loved being able to connect to the wildness and freedom that each character felt and was facinated to see how differently they chose to let those feelings play out in their lives. I look forward to seeing where Shawn takes the story next!

A superbly crafted epic series. The perfect meld of action and magic. If you love shifters I know you will quickly add this series to your treasured books shelf or list. I know it will be reread often, and enjoyed every bit as much as on the first reading, and recommended to everyone that asks me for an opinion on a series to read. I gave a five star rating only because they don't have the ten it deserves. Yes, it truely is that good!
