3.0 out of 5 stars Seen Better, October 10, 2009
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Call of Juarez 2 X360 (Video Game)
This game was alright, which is why the 3 stars. I don't really have any problem with it but I just wasn't impressed. It's a lot like the first one. The weapons are cool but none any better than the other. I never did upgrade any of my guns because I didn't ever need to. Wielding 2 golden volcano guns is pretty cool looking but not very effective. I pretty much went through then entire game once with each brother. Not much of a difference. One goes up on the roof with his bow and the other stays on the grown with his twin 6-shooters. They both seem to be just as tough and just as stealthy. Didn't find much use for knifes and no matter what I found myself reverting to the lever-action rifle for most gun fights.

The story line is good even better if you played the first COJ. Controls are easy and enemies are kinda smart. The levels where you ride around doing jobs and hunting criminals are just a plain waste of time, I spend 2 hours on one level just to make $500 when the rifle I wanted cost $1200. It's just not worth it.

Graphics are good, sound is good.

Duels are just plain stupid; you have to be perfect to out-gun your opponent which usually took 3-4 times to get right. Just keep trying until you can shoot them all in the leg or lower body, which is all you ever have time to do.

Most of the "dynamic" features are just that, features they don't really add anything to the game play. Throwing knifes and dynamite is great but neither is necessary. The lasso is a waste of time and so are the shooting modes for both brothers. I never once used them for either brother, just wasn't necessary.

To sum it all up, the game is good, it's fun, it's got some amusing gimmicks but most of it is just fluff and not really very important to the actual game. Don't pay full price and don't expect anything too ground breaking.
