3.0 out of 5 stars Fun, but just a little disappointing December 5, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I consider every other John Locke book has written to be 5 star books. Unfortunately, I can't say that for Call Me. I enjoyed the book and liked the plot and the humor (as always), but I wasn't in love with the two main characters. Dani is beautiful, smart, and funny; but something is missing that I can't quite articulate. Maybe it was her friendship with Sofe. I found Sofe to be okay at times, but most of the time she was annoying and needy. I don't have any problem with Dani being attracted to another woman - I just didn't believe that her character would fall for Sofe. Just my opinion... Overall it's a fun read, but it's not quite at the level of the Creed and Emmett books.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a ride November 20, 2011

Format:Kindle Edition
As a huge fan of the Donovan Creed series I was not sure what to expect from this new protagonist. But John Locke does not disappoint. From the moment I downloaded this book until I finished it I was entrapped. Dark but with the humor you expect. Great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Call Me" November 24, 2011
By Kim

John Locke expanded his creativity with this book, temporarily stepping away from the great Donovan Creed & Emmett Gentry series. I've read all his books, have them in my collection as well as sharing them with others to read.

John Locke continues to create wonderful writing that keep you always wanting more & sad when you finish the current book. His characters never cease to creep into your heart and make themselves at home.

I'm always looking forward to his next book and will keep waiting for all the ones to come in the future.

Keep up the great work John.

3.0 out of 5 stars for the price, can't complain December 6, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I've read so many john locke books that they're beginning to meld into one. I swore I had read this one before but it's just the regurgitated characters. Still enough entertainment to give it 3 stars.

3.0 out of 5 stars Some good some not so good November 28, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I'm totally hooked on John Locke novels, but this series, if it is to be, does not stack up against Creed. The book kept my attention well enough but I'm getting a little tired of all the lesbian foreplay. I'm not sure for whose benefit that is, men or women? Why can't the second best looking woman on the planet just have good friend.

I could be wrong, but somewhere hidden in my memory cells I seem to recall a plot similar to this in another book or movie.

On the good side I was pleasantly surprised that the book tied in some what cha call Creed business accociates to save the day.

2.0 out of 5 stars Fun to read but... July 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
After a promising start in the first two chapter there is a marked deterioration and eventually I had to make an effort to finish it. The story line is forced and unrealistic with too big gaps to be even partially believable.
The characters are superficial and inconsistent and except for the good humor and pleasant stile it is disappointing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing November 27, 2011
By Gabby
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I must have missed something because I did not enjoy this book. I was a bit disappointed in that it was not up to the John Locke standard that I have for one of my favorite authors. I did not like the character, nor her friend Sophie. I felt there were too many gaps within Dani's story. Sorry but I was not impressed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Call me when the next book is ready! November 21, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I hope this book is just the beginning of a new series.
I devoured this book like it was a gourmet meal, savoring every page.
Dani is a delicious change from the ordinary heroine. She is beautiful, clever, loyal, classy and yet endearingly human.
You won't be disappointed!
