Book Description

April 2005
One day, one moment, one event, alters the lives of three people forever. Laura Ramsey, spends a lifetime struggling to protect and gain acceptance of her child as the scourge of evil, crime and drugs present insurmountable roadblocks. Lloyd Ramsey, rich and powerful lawyer whose selfish actions wreak havoc with the future for one woman and her son. Bowen Ramsey, a child born of parents from two different worlds, torn between right and wrong, would have few choices as he’s guided down a wayward path. Set in southeast Florida and inspired by true events, Call Me Mommy is an emotionally charged suspense saga about family dysfunction, corruption, murder, romance, tragedy and the unconditional love of one woman that will rip the reader’s heartstrings. In Call Me Mommy, author Marshall Frank deviates from his usual police/thriller genre to pure suspense built around compelling characters who will surely evoke emotions of love, sorrow, fear and anger from any feeling person.

5.0 out of 5 stars Call Me Mommy, by Marshall Frank, A Must Read, July 2, 2005
This review is from: Call Me Mommy (Paperback)
Marshall Frank's latest book, Call Me Mommy, deviates from his normal police/thriller genre, this book is amazing, and was inspired by true events.

Following Laura Ramsey, and all that happens to her in her life, is a wonderful story, one that is made even more amazing in the fact that it was inspired by events which actually took place in Frank's life.

I will admit, I'm a big fan of Mr. Frank, I have read all of his books, and continue to read his newspaper articles. Call Me Mommy just grabbed my heart, and did not let go until I reached the end of the book.

If you are looking for a book that deals with mystery, family relations, how corrupt some politicians can be, and one that is full of twists and turns that keep you guessing until the end, this book is for you. It really is a heartfelt and gripping read. The characters are so very colorful and REAL. This is the perfect book for lovers of the true crime/novel genre.

So, go and grab a copy....you will not be sorry that you did.

4.0 out of 5 stars Must Read!, May 16, 2005

Call Me Mommy will break your heart, piss you off, make you smile, and, from time to time, cause you to throw the book across the room. Moments later you'll retrieve it and continue to read. It is a masterful effort from Marshall Frank -- who wrote through the pain.

It is also, unfortunately, a book for our time and a "must read" for all parents. We live in a self-centered, drug-engulfed, divorce-riddled society. The fallout on our children can be deadly. Frank tells it like he sees it. That's his style.

Marshall Frank holds your interest the minute you start reading his books. I could not put this book down. Actually I cant put any of his books down. I have read Dire Straits, Beyond the Call and am currently reading The Latent and I have ordered the rest of his books. In my opinion he is one of the top notch authors who I look forward to reading. I hope he writes many more. He certainly has the experience to do so. Call Me Mommy is so well written that I found myself talking to the characters! The book is so incredibly good you can't not read it.Thank you Marshall Frank for sharing your experiences with us.
