Like other books in this and other series by John Locke it's a good, entertaining, fantasy read. Ronald Lloyd  |  25 reviewers made a similar statement
Don't get me wrong, the books read like greased lightning but Call Me is just way too contrived. Jay Rabins  |  12 reviewers made a similar statement
It was a fast reading easy to read book with just enough depth to keep me interested. Mesa man  |  17 reviewers made a similar statement

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun, but just a little disappointing December 5, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I consider every other John Locke book has written to be 5 star books. Unfortunately, I can't say that for Call Me. I enjoyed the book and liked the plot and the humor (as always), but I wasn't in love with the two main characters. Dani is beautiful, smart, and funny; but something is missing that I can't quite articulate. Maybe it was her friendship with Sofe. I found Sofe to be okay at times, but most of the time she was annoying and needy. I don't have any problem with Dani being attracted to another woman - I just didn't believe that her character would fall for Sofe. Just my opinion... Overall it's a fun read, but it's not quite at the level of the Creed and Emmett books.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a ride November 20, 2011

As a huge fan of the Donovan Creed series I was not sure what to expect from this new protagonist. But John Locke does not disappoint. From the moment I downloaded this book until I finished it I was entrapped. Dark but with the humor you expect. Great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Call Me" November 24, 2011

John Locke expanded his creativity with this book, temporarily stepping away from the great Donovan Creed & Emmett Gentry series. I've read all his books, have them in my collection as well as sharing them with others to read.

John Locke continues to create wonderful writing that keep you always wanting more & sad when you finish the current book. His characters never cease to creep into your heart and make themselves at home.

I'm always looking forward to his next book and will keep waiting for all the ones to come in the future.

Keep up the great work John.

Easy read, entertaining, if you're looking for something deeper its not the book. But I did enjoy reading this, as well as the other Dani Ripper novels.
