Book Description

July 6, 2006
Written for the everyday person, yet scientifically and logically sound enough to be appreciated by the PhD., A Call to Sanity

  • Addresses the many misconceptions of Modern Rational Atheism.
  • Confronts the many uncontested myths of religion.
  • Explains how and why the belief in a "God" is dangerous when making daily life choices regarding politics, health and social issues.
  • Aids those struggling with religion and the belief in an almighty "God" by explaining what they need to think about before deciding which philosophical route to take in life.

Mr. Yeldell also delves into the psyche and explains the mentality of those who believe in a "God" and how and why they disregard the apparent overwhelming evidence for the non-existence of a "God" or a supernatural realm.

A Call to Sanity is clearly written, sprinkled with dabs of humor and wit and offers logical arguments that debunk creationism, intelligent design, "God's" existence, pseudo science and claims of a supernatural realm.

Editorial Reviews

About the Author

Jason Scott Yeldell is a biologist and evolutionist by degree, a scientist by profession and a science teacher and writer by avocation.

Mr. Yeldell's childhood fascination with dinosaurs and nature proved to be the necessary beginning to him championing rational thought and logic over theology, pseudo science, a supernatural realm and superstition to this day.

"I believe it is a natural progression, for those wholly fascinated with nature and the world's creatures, that they develop into individuals who settle for nothing less than accurate depictions of reality and not viewing life through a "lens" of religion, superstition and groundless claims of an invisible diety." (Jason Yeldell, 2003)

Mr. Yeldell is heavily active on the continuing debate regarding Evolution and Creationism, as well as formal debates regarding Atheism/ Theism.

Mr. Yeldell invites all to continue the debate online at www.ACallToSanity.com.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Call To Sanity, March 23, 2006
This review is from: A Call to Sanity: The Collision Between the Existence of God and the Non-Existence of God from a Rational Atheistic Perspective (Paperback)
I think it would greatly beneficial for all religious people (mainly Christians) to read this book. It is very straight forward (a teenage child could read it and understand, without advanced courses in philosophy, biology, evolution and astronomy). Then maybe many believers could understand why someone would be an athiest.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent (if you have an open mind) !, March 21, 2006
This review is from: A Call to Sanity: The Collision Between the Existence of God and the Non-Existence of God from a Rational Atheistic Perspective (Paperback)
I myself was born christian (as most americans are) so for me to be reading a book on atheism is pretty weird. But I will say this. There is definately alot to discuss and ponder in A Call To Sanity. I like the way it was written, in a calm style and not trying to lose the reader with scientific and philosophical jargon. Everything (from evolution to big bang to intelligent design, and everything in between) is xplained in an obvious well thought out manner. This book, along with my new insights on what it means to be "objective and rational", ironically (for a christian) dont make me feel bad and evil, but actually and honestly enlightened. I now understand why many do not believe in the concept of a God. A must read for atheists and believers alike!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hands down, a must read !!, March 20, 2006
This review is from: A Call to Sanity: The Collision Between the Existence of God and the Non-Existence of God from a Rational Atheistic Perspective (Paperback)
To All: I just wanted to let everyone know that I am enjoying this book immensely! Not only in me reading the book, but in me sharing the book! As I read the book I have been throwing questions out to people who claim to be so "religious" and the response I am getting from them is "wow, I never thought to ask those types of questions!" I am enjoying this book immensely and thank Mr. Yeldell for providing the world with a clear honest understanding of Rational Atheism and clear concise arguments against the irrational.... S.
