THis band aint bad, but personaly, most of their songs are a bit too short and i wish they would make them longer because most of them are like just at 3 minutes or a little less. Anyway, some of the stuff on this CD is a little unoriginal, but they aint bad, so buy this CD, because they are from my state, Georgia! Got to give the local band soem support, you know...

5.0 out of 5 stars Not bad at all!, December 24, 2005
This review is from: I Call This Abandonment (Audio CD)
Well, at first listen I thought I was listening to an Underoath side project. What this is, is what Underoath wish they could still sound like! Now don't get me wrong, I'm a big UO fan.....I'm just more into their harder stuff they did back in the day. This album though is pretty good though. Anyone who criticizes this CD as commercial screamo, need to go look in the mirror at groups like The Used and Story of the Year........THAT's commercial screamo. I don't hear groups like Chasing Victory or Maylene and the Sons of Disaster on the radio. Music like Chasing Victory is music you listen to when you don't want to think. If you want to think, go and get Between The Buried and Me's "Alaska", that is a thinking-person's record! If you just want to sit back and rock out, pick up this album!

Let's see... wow... I really do not know where to begin. I picked up this CD after hearing their EP at a friends house. I Call This Abandonment has been playing nonstop in my house ever since I got it in the mail! If you are a fan of Underoath/The Used/Taking Back Sunday, I think you would love this album. Unlike some reviewers who go off on senseless tangeants about how music is getting worse as time passes... I am greatly pleased with this Album and the effort this band put into it. I love bands like Chasing Victory, Mae and others who truly put feeling into their music.... They are not just releasing CDs to earn more money and they have good messages, unlike some 'musicians' who talk only about sex ('MUSICIANS') and only get radio play because of some man behind the curtain directing pop culture(getting low?). Listen to what you love, don't conform to 'nonconformists' views who are stuck in the eighties talking about how punk was so awesome back in the day... haha, there is my tangeant =P

first of all, a big f u to anyone who disses anyone's music. who the hell are you anyway? pick up a guitar or something, show me what you got. oh, that's right, you're just a loser who sits on their computer all day spewing opinions about nothing. what i really wrote this for is to get in contact with the guy who thinks chasing victory is a bad buy or listen to anyone who doesn't understand the "punk" or "emo" movement(?) what exactly are you talking about? there isn't any movement or grand agenda for any of this music we listen to. and i'm guessing by your review of this lovely album that you simply didn't like it, which is fine, and decided this was the perfect time to express your personal music "politics" on everyone else. find a hobby or learn to play an instrument and join a band, then you'll know what it's like. idiot.

If you want a creativityless band incapable of writing a chord progression/riff/melody that deviates even slightly from conservative commercial formulas, pick this up. If you want another band jumping on the "screamo" trend without understanding it, and turning it into grungy commercial alt-rock, then pick this up. If you want watered down, processed, assembly line drivel passed off as creative self-expression then pick this up. Basically if you have contempt for everything punk, emo, hardcore, and metal are about and just wish it could all just be assimilated into basic thoughtless mainstream rock so you can understand and accept it better, then this band is what you've been looking for all your life. If you want good tunes, or any semblance of a honest, visceral edge, stay away from this band at all costs.
