5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best Torah anthology, January 30, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Elie Munk is known in France as one of their best Torah scholar after Rashi. His compilations of selected commentaries on the Chumash is one of the most complete, including controversies from the Talmudic sages and plenty of Rashi, Rambam, etc. He also exposes his own intrepretations and teachings, so relevant today. You do not need to complement with another set of commentaries. This is only one volume, you need to buy 4 more to have a complete set. I use this book at my shabbat tisch. I would recommend Aryeh Kaplan Torah translations and commentaries in addition to this set if you need a more modern (but correct) approach of the text and more drawings and illustrations. Meam Loez should be also part of your essential Torah anthologies.
