Another great collection of the wonderful comic strip Mutts! Patrick McDonnell continues his wonderful comic strip in this book, with new adventures and antics for his characters, and how they see the world. Many of the title panels are original art this time rather than tributes to other artists, and shows the range of ability and style this artist has for art other than cartooning. A must-have for animal lovers of all types! And definitely a must-have for Mutts fans everywhere.

First of all, a confession: I love Mutts! It doesn't matter which Mutts book or which daily strip, I haven't found one yet that wasn't perfect. I'm a confirmed newspaper comics junkie and have been as long as I can remember, from Pogo to Calvin and Hobbes and now Mutts. I've even purchased the children's book, South, sight unseen, for a friend's granddaughter (get them hooked early!).

This collection, Call of the Wild, is excellent and I keep it nearby to re-read at random. It's interesting how this strip seems to remind me, over and over again, how important all relationships are, and that what we put into them is what we get back from them. I have to thank Mooch and Earl for that constant reminder!

As with all Mutt's Comics this book is such delightful reading. As an animal lover, I am concerned about the treatment of animals today and this author you can see loves animals too and really understands them.
If you like the Mutt's comics; you will love this book.
