It gets me going in the morning...,
By A Customer
This review is from: Call to Worship: Live in Dc (Audio CD)
This is probably my favorite cd by Minister Hurd. My favorite cuts are #1, #4, #8 and #11. #11 is probably my overall favorite because it speaks directly to my soul and expresses my desire to be filled with God's Holy Spirit throughout. I enjoy Min. Hurd's music because he focuses on the Lord with his lyrics and execution. There's something upbeat for the ride home and something light as I start my day and invite the Holy Spirit to be with me. I simply love it!

I loved this CD...[slow in getting it but nevertheless], his song "Your Glory" literally woke me up out of my sleep. The alarm alone couldnt do it :) - and I woke up feeling so blessed by his song.

Idon't mind Hurd's 'unique' vocal styles, its a little different, and I can appreciate that, if the songs, arrangements etc are great.
On the positive, I REALLY enjoyed the arrangements of "Let it Rise" and "Undignified". I really don't like, "Cry out o Zion", on this and some of the others he goes overboard with the syncopation or whatever, everything is too choppy. The slow songs are average, and some of them take toooo long to develop, but they are worshipful enough I guess. I might have got my moneys worth from it, but not much more.

I was very impressed with this album. Stephen Hurd is truly talented. We have to be careful how we make assumptions because I thought because of the song "Undignified Praise" radio stations play all the time that the whole album would have been contemporary. But this album is all about praise and worship. I am always in the worship mode when I am going to work and going home. God Bless you Stephen Hurd!!

This album would take you and your worship towards God to another level. When I saw this album in the store, I was not really feeling it because I am not a big fan of praise and worship music, but when I heard the song Lead me to the rock, tears began to fall down my face. At that point I knew I had to purchae this album. If you want some true and anoited praise and worship music, I really would suggest that you will get this album.

I've had this album for a long time now and I'm surprised I never gave it a review. When I first I heard of Stephen Hurd was when my pastor played a song from his previous album. I had liked the song, but I didn't want to get the album, because it was kind of old at this time. I usually don't like to get old albums, unless it's really good like Skekinah Glory Ministry. Fortunately, Stephen came out with another album and I decided to get it. At first, I wasn't as impressed, cause when an artist uses the word "worship" on their album cover, I expect a whole lot, mainly because of Shekinah Glory's "Praise is What I Do" album.
Once I got pass that and accepted it for what it is, it's a really good album. One of my favorite songs is "Your Glory", because he prays for more of His glory and worships about His glory. I like manifested glory songs. I also like the song "Lead Me To The Rock". I had actually forgot about this song until I heard it on the radio and found myself worshipping. I also like the song "Let it Rise" and "Undignified Praise". I can't wait for him to come out with another album, because he has definitely gotten better with each album.

An Excellent Praise and Worship Leader,

Praise and Worship music is probably the most popular form of gospel music right now (my favorite gospel dj in Atlanta devotes a whole hour to just P&W every Sunday morning). It has also become a form of music which has allowed egotistical individuals to anoint themselves (on both the professional or within your local church) as worship leaders. And what should be set aside as a time for the leader to minister to the people; has sadly turned into an opportunity to put "self on parade".
Well Stephen Hurd is no such P&W leader. Its not all about him. On this album you will not hear him drag a song on for eternity, or try to show off his vocal prowess, or talk endlessly before, during or after a song, or improvise on each and every song just to show you how versatile he can be. He keeps it simple and realizes that the Holy Spirit is the Minister and Stephen Hurd is only the Vessel. Which is why he is one of my favorite P&W leaders because he is NOT ANNOYING. Lead Me to the Rock is my favorite song on this album. I loved it when I first heard it, but, one day in particular as I was driving home listening to this song I just broke down crying. Because there are truly times when your heart is overwhelmed that you need the Rock to lead you to a higher place. Much love to Stephen Hurd and Corp. Worship. Keep doing it just the way you are doing it.

A really good C.D. if you love pure praise & worship you'll enjoy it...if you're just looking for contemporary music...don't buy it...Honestyl i bought it looking for some creativity such as Tonex or Tye Tribbett I didn't find to much contemporary stuff but what i found ,I love, the presence of God.....
