5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to hit straight
I've been a Taylormade Burner guy for 3 years, an outstanding club, but I decided to try this club at a demo day. The head shape seemed odd at first, and took a little adjustment. Being a 22 handicap, I needed a driver I could hit straight with distance. I had a tendency to fade or slice the burner if my hand timing was a little late on the release. The major advantage I...

3.0 out of 5 stars GREAT at the beginning, but after a while go with the ft-iq
First off all, all I have to say is I was so excited to buy this club. I have been playing for 8 years and have tried every club known to man. At the beginning I was hitting close to 300yds. After about a month the club got harder and harder to keep straight and from slicing. I have NEVER had those problems with the ft-iq. In the end it turned out my club-head was...

The major advantage I see is the balance of the club head in relation to the shaft. It is very easy for me to to feel the head on the downswing and release the club correctly. I track my fairway % on my sky caddie, and have seen a 44% improvement. I use impact tape to judge my contact point on the face, and have noticed a much improved "closer to the sweet spot" on this club. I had often hit the burner too high on the face. Closer to the toe shots remained fairly straight and a distance of 200 yards. Sweet spot hits go from 230-250. (I'm 50, with a 105 mph swing speed) I bought the 9 degree regular flex. I am happy to say that I think this is the first year in many that Callaway has made major strides for high handicap golfers. They say the swing is the most important factor, and technology can only help so much, but I believe this driver's strength is it's ability to help me feel the proper swing. I also purchased Callaway Diablo edge irons at my local store. I normally shy away from Callaway with the high pricing, but the trade-in values they are giving is unbelievable.

In the end it turned out my club-head was defective. So I sent it back and got a new one. THE SAME THING HAPPENED. So I called Callaway and asked for help they said it was the sellers fault. The next day I went over to my local proshop and asked for some helpful advice. He said that there has been many complaints on the ft-iz getting dents in the head. In the end I switched back to the good trusty ft-iq and i'm so glad. Overall do you want to have a club theat will last you a couple weeks or years?

5.0 out of 5 stars Great driver but still haven't found the sweet spot consistently yet..., November 13, 2011

This is a great driver but the head is much bigger than my 15 year old Driver so I need to get used to it still. However, missed shots don't seem to penalize me like my old driver. Got the stiff shaft and its light and very smooth. Feels balanced. You don't have to swing that hard for the ball to launch easily off the club head. I think Callaway has done a phenominial job with these. Buy these for $150 or less and you won't go wrong.

This was a fathers day gift for my husband, and he LOVES it! He has gone out golfing 2 times since receiving it, and has raved about how much he loves it. He has all callaway clubs, and this was a replacement for an older Callaway driver.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Thing, February 15, 2011
This review is from: Callaway FT-iZ Driver (Sports)
I had the club delivered overseas in Dubai in just 4 days. Thank you DHL.

The club is amazing. I did not want to go full swing on my first try as I am not used to hybrids. It still went 180 yards on a par 3 hole that I birdied for the first time ever. It feels great and the ball flight is not very high (I got the 21 degrees loft). My friend who is a par 2 player loved it as well.

I would sincerely recommend this club. Oh and it sounds great on impact.
