Product Description

The goal of Callaway's X-Series irons has always been lofty: to set the performance standard for the industry. Enter the X-20 NG stainless-steel iron set, which features new grooves that conform to the "conditions of competition" for the 2010 PGA Tour. As a result, the irons maximize playability with every swing. The X-20 NG is made using specific core technologies that create a lower center of gravity than most other iron brands. The technologies start with Extreme Notch Weighting, which redistributes the weight to the low, rearward area of the toe and heel, creating a high moment of inertia (MOI). This improves your distance and accuracy on mis-hits at the heel and toe, making it easier to approach the green. The clubs also take advantage of Variable Face Thickness (VFT) technology, which allows Callaway engineers to lower the center of gravity to produce an optimum trajectory with each iron in the set, giving long irons a higher launch angle and short irons and wedges a better trajectory height. Add in a 180-Degree Undercut Channel--which maximizes perimeter weighting by moving the center of gravity even lower and farther back--and you have a club with a large sweet spot that hits the ball far and straight even on rough swings.

About This 8-Club X-20 Iron Set
This particular set of Callaway X-20 NG irons includes eight total clubs: a 4-iron, 5-iron, 6-iron, 7-iron, 8-iron, and 9-iron, along with a pitching wedge and sand wedge.

Almost instant improvement September 20, 2010
By Kevin
Golf Club Flex:Uniflex| Shaft Material Type:Steel| Hand Orientation:Right|Amazon Verified Purchase
Been golfing semi-consistently for over 10 years...but with hand-me-down clubs. The difference the X-20's made was 10 yards more per club, better flight trajectory and I shot 7 shots lower (avg 95, now average 87-88) within 3-4 weeks of playing 1-2x per week. Wish I had these sooner.

I have played with my new x20s for about 3 weeks and they are great thus far. It took me no time to get used to them after replacing my 10 to 15 year old TaylorMade LCGs. I am getting about the same distance and my ball flight is a little higher on my long irons. This is something I always wanted and I think it is due to uniflex shaft. When I read reviews, some reviews stated that uniflex gives you a higher ball flight. I did not really believe that, but it does. My old irons contained regular shafts. The shaft was one of my concerns before I purchased these irons. I requested regular shafts which the company did not send because of the great price. The regular shafts were about $55 more than the uniflex. I am enjoying my uniflex shafts and my new x20s. Kevin

Look no more. for the average golfer this are very forgiving iron clubs. Their weight is perfect son the swing feel just great, so you dont feel that you have to put more power or speed, therefore you control more your swing and as a result ... well you know it .... shots are more straight and a bit longer.
