Ball has some "great" stopping power on the greens.
Mudcat
This ball feels really good on Iron shots, no clack, but feels somewhat soft and smooth.

The Hex Control ball is branded for costco selling at $24.99 or $29.99 for 2-dozen. This is a great price sense this is the same ball as the Hex Hot Pro but Costco demands its own label or rather you can see the buying power costco has. In light of a previous reviewer saying you cannot find this on Callaway's site that is false. you can find it on the site under Additional Product Offerings. it shows the items made for costco there. as well you can google hex control and the first link should take you right to it on callaway's page. so for the money at $29.99 for 2-dozen vs. the branded Hex hot pro at $26.99 for 1-dozen its a steal. you can look up the specs for yourself if you do not believe these are the same balls.

Bought these balls @ costco myrtle beach while on a golf trip. Handed them out to the guys so we all could play them and report. No complaints. Everyone said they liked to play with them but one guy didn't like the spin he got (he's a hacker)

The consensus was a pass. Personally, I would buy them again. And I did!
@Costco in Canada (where I live) and I paid 24.99.

So, I win. A good ball at a terrific price! I should be good for most of the year with this bargain. Oh, I'm an honest 12 and these balls are just fine. If you don't have an ego..... BUY THEM

did the same thing, bought at Costco and could find absolutely NOTHING on them from Callaway website. I am a 8 handicap with above average swing speed (excess 100 mph). What I did find was that this ball was at least 15 yards shorter for me with my driver (normal ball Srixon Z Star, Callaway HX Diablo Tour). I have played this ball for 3 months now and about 10 rounds, so I feel confident with this statement. I believe that my iron shots are about the same as the Srixon, but I was seeing about 5+ yards MORE with the HX Diablo Tour. This ball feels really good on Iron shots, no clack, but feels somewhat soft and smooth. With short irons and wedges, distance felt about on par with my normal balls. SPIN - short irons, this ball does spin at least as much as my Srixon (maybe a little more). On the greens with full wedge shot this ball will stop and sometimes back up quick. HX Diablo released, so this was a little tough for the first few rounds to adjust. Durability is great. I could play an entire round and if I stayed off the cart paths and no tree trunks, this ball holds up extremely well and remained playable. So for the price, if you can handle a little less distance off the tee, then play these all day long

I play 1-2 times a week and a 12 handicap at the moment. My natural shots are high so when I do hit the greens on my approach shots, they have great spin and suck back when they land on the green. My ball divots are usually ahead of the golf ball a good 2-5 ft. This is great for lobbing over bunkers and the pin is tight with not a lot of green to work with, I can still get the ball to check once it lands on the green. These are probably not the longest ball off the tee, but it does fine for me and my irons. I can still hit an 8 iron from 150 and get it to the middle of the green. I also play the Callaway hex black which are longer, I will play those when I am hitting long par 4's and par 5's to get the extra distance I need. But most of the time I grab this the hex control because they are cheaper, and still give me the control I need around the greens and off the tee. If and when I do become a 5 or below handicapper, I might move on to a better ball, but even a low handicapper can post great scores with this ball. For now, no need to spend $45-$50 on a dozen of expensive golf balls, when you can get 2 dozen for way less, that still perform great and feel pretty soft off the clubface on solid shots.

This is Costco's version of Callaway HX Bite. I like this ball very much, especially for $15/doz at Costco.

To me this ball is very similar in feel and performance to the Titleist NXT Tour S, for half the price!

I love Callaway balls. I thought I would try these HEX Control (Costco).

The bad:

1) Not for slow swing speeds. I have major back issues and swing about 85-90. The compression on this ball requires at least 110 or more.
2) The feel was a little hard, felt like a 2-piece at times.

The good:

1) Ball flight is true, didn't have any issues with spin, didn't lose any yardage on drives as one other has stated. If I lost yards it was because the ball does not like to roll.

2) Ball has some "great" stopping power on the greens. Felt like I was playing a 4 piece ball. The course I play has greens as hard as cement and requires playing up short of the green and let the ball run up (like links play). With these balls I was able to attack the pin and they would bounce once and stop.

3) Was able to control the spin and work the draw and fades easily.

I would recommend this ball to those who want a great ball for 150 yds in to the green and want to stick it. Would not recommend for those that must have a soft feel. (If you want soft feel try the NXT Tour-S, but the stopping power is half of the Callaway Control)

I will buy these again because of the bargain price and green side stopping power.
