These, along with the Almost Golf P3 Almost Golf Practice Ball 36 Pack balls, are the best golf practice balls that I've found. They're made of soft rubber and won't break any windows or dent your car (I've hit mine numerous times). With dimples like a real golf ball, they take spin and give you a good idea about the kind of swing you've made. You need some room to hit these, though. With a 9-iron, I can hit these anywhere from, say, 40-65 yards. I have no idea how the distance with this ball compares to a real golf ball. Maybe half or a third the distance. I'll find out next time I visit the range. When I compare these with the Almost Golf P3 Almost Golf Practice Ball 36 Pack balls, which I also highly recommend, the key difference is feel. The Callaways are very soft, and with that much give in them, at impact you have a hard time really feeling the clubhead compress the ball. The sound tells you when you've made good contact, and then you watch ball flight. With the Almost Golf balls, they're a hard kind of rubber, and when I hit those, I can actually feel and see, in my mind's eye, the clubhead squared up against the ball, and I know where it's going from that instant. So the sensation is very much like hitting a real golf ball. Of course, the weight of a real golf ball makes a big difference when I go from hitting these practice balls and try out my swing on the range. I find that my swing starts to break down pretty quickly at the range, because I'm fighting the strange weight of the ball and still trying to hit it as far as I think I should be, based on distances I've hit the Almost Golf ball in my yard (and that should be a third the distance of a real golf ball). But that's another story. The Callaways are just great, and such a pleasure after hitting with solid white plastic practice balls, which begin to crack and dent after a few swings, even easy ones with a 9-iron.

Should have read the reviews a bit closer! I bought these so I could hit some balls in the back yard, as well as have some balls the kids can play with that won't damage the windows. While these are certainly distance-limited, I wonder how far they actually fly in comparison to a real ball. Not knowing the distance, I hit my very first ball (with an eight-iron) over my house. I have a pretty large yard and I am now limited to hitting wedges, chipping, and letting the kids play with them.
Bottom line is that these seem like good practice balls, you just need to have an appropriate amount of space if you want to take full swings. I'd guess they fly 2/3 the distance of a real ball.

Love these practice balls. They look and feel like real balls. My son and I use them in our hallway and practice. Great for pitch shots and lob shots.
Will take them outside too.

I tried these and was immediately impressed with how they fly. These golf balls are soft and harmless to your car or house and fly about 60%-70% of a real ball. The most compelling reason to use these is the ability spin the shot. I can safely practice the "flop" while watching the steaks on the grill. I flop shots onto the deck. Errant shots do no harm and the wife does not mind. Loose the net and the ball on the string. I have not tried these with longer clubs as they can go. I think a must have!

I still cringe when the ball hits the neighbor's house, but these are good practice balls. Heavier than wiffle balls.

The florescent pink shown is not what you get. You get a very pale slightly pinkish ball. I ordered these because I thought they would standout more so than the orange ones; I don't know how the actual orange balls compare to the shade of color shown. The balls themselves are not consistent in that some are fairly hard, others are very soft. Don't expect consistent hits. The net bag they come in is well made; also, the Callaway stamp on the balls is well done.

They could have given you more balls for your money. 9 balls isn't enough to practice on my own. I wish I had about 20 or so. The feel is good and they really pop when you hit them right. Havent had them break or deform yet and its been a few months. I wonder if the cheaper brands are just as good. Foam is foam after all, not even close to the real thing, but I wanted something safe to hit at my backyard (these are very safe, you cant hurt a thing with these).

This is a really good choice if you wanna hit into a net in the backyard or hit some shots in the park. it's made out of rubber, and it has dimples on it just like the real thing. It flys maybe a bit more than 1/3 of a real shot. But it will show your slice or hook like the real thing. These fly up a somewhat higher than the real thing, so on a real windy day, they won't go as straight as you would like. I love go to the local park and hit some balls with friends. this thing is real light, and you wont have to worry about hiting someone or damage properties. In fact I usually hit straight toward my partner, and he then hit it right back to me. And when we have like 3 or 4 people hiting the balls around, people think we're playing some baseball golf. :)

Awesome practice balls!,

I purchased the Callaway HX practice balls about a month ago. I wanted to use them for a while before leaving any feedback. They are (I would say) the best practice balls one could use. The balls are made out of rubber, so they will not dent, crack, or break like the plastic balls. I wouldn't recommend for someone hitting out of a neighborhood because the balls travel around 55 to 70 percent distance of a reel golf ball. Yes, they will travel a good distance if hit properly. I have an open front yard that is about 100 yards by 60 yards. That is plenty space for hitting irons and wedges. I am not sure about drivers. The balls will slice sharply if hit incorrectly. I have practiced with my wedge inside the house using these practice balls. Just don't swing toward any glass or anything that seems fragile. I actually hit them in my living room and I try to land them on my fiancee while she sits on the sofa (practice accuracy). All in all, I would definitely recommend these to any who is looking for practice golf balls. Do not let the price bother you, they are worth the money.

When not hitting regular golf balls into the practice net I'm hitting the Callaway ball from my property to places I pick out on the street where I live, which is a dead end and after 9:00 a.m. everyone has gone to work. There is no worry about breaking windows or denting a mail box, most of the time the ball comes down in the road so that you are not walking on other peoples lawns. They are a great aid in swing practice where you can get height and distance (75) yards. Next best thing to the driving range.
