This book is short, yet so thorough and so inspired, and so right on that it is REQUIRED reading for the Worship Team and Choir at my church. We read it together, a chapter at a time, and talk about it. Grein reminds us that though praising and worshipping the Lord is beautiful, inspiring, and fun, if it isn't done from the heart, then it doesn't touch God. She talks about how important it is that musicians be more than talented...they must also be deeply grounded in the Word. Worship is serious business

One thing that hit me is that you have to submit and have purity of motives, not be concerned with how well you're going to do in music (or anything else) but to have a focus on serving God.

If you can, try to catch Janny in concert!

I am not a musician, this book is not just for musicians, but for worshipers and we are ALL called to worship! I read this book during a difficult time in my life and it really ministered to me about how the Lord prepares us to do what He has called us to do. We all go through seasons as the Lord brings our character up to our calling. This was such an encouraging book even as a mature believer in the Lord. Sometimes we don't walk out what we "know" and it is wonderful and encouraging to be reminded.

Great book, I highly recommend. Some great points on preparing yourself to be used by God. Being a good vessel for His Holy Spirit to flow through. She shares great testimony about ways the Holy Spirit works through people & mistakes she's made that hindered the work of the Holy Spirit.

This book is written from God's heart, which is the heart of purpose, the heart of love. I thank Janny Grein for sharing her personal story along with delving into the deeper truth of the purpose of music. It's amazing how such a small book can leave such a lasting impact. This book is written according to Scripture and has influenced my decision making in many areas.

I recommend it for anyone serving in a leadership capacity, everyone who has any inkling of a musical gift, and for those thirsty to identify how to sharpen their walk with the Almighty.

Wonderful book purchased this book when she cam to my hometown in El Campo TX..She is just as wonderful as her book... POWERFUL.. If you need to know what your called to do read this book...............

The reason I gave this one star is because the title was misleading. I assumed it concerned all gifts, but this book is about people in music. It should say that. It also does not say anything that I didn't already know. Anybody that had been walking with the Lord any amount of time should know this stuff.
