From AudioFile

This program tells the story of Joshua's flight from Egypt, the lessons he learned from Moses, and how he overcame adversity to become one of the most effective leaders in biblical times. Denying his own power and the advice of his contemporaries, he followed God's ideas on leadership as he moved his people through a time of great change. Drawing on the unyielding authority patterns so common in the Old Testament, these historical lessons are engaging as well as inspiring. J. Charles is informed and involved but keeps enough distance from the material to let the story maintain center stage. A compelling lesson for anyone interested in leadership and influence. I read this book after I had been made a leader in a number of places in my life. Home, work, Church, all at the same time. For the most part, I failed in each of these areas of leadership. Then I read this book. WOW! I wish I had it prior to my earlier trials.

This book has been very practical and has taught me many things I needed to know about my role as a leader, or better put, as God's leader through the life of Joshua. It has changed the way I lead and the way I see leadership.

A must for Lay leaders.

Brings out facts about Joshua and his leadership that can be made an example to us today. Not dull or boring in any way. Stuck to the facts and didn't "make" things fit their agenda. This is an excellent book and I recommend that everyone read it.

This is the second time I've read this book.

Joshua changed the world and the Blackaby's provide a great insight into how he did this. Pivotal to Joshua's life and leadership were an absolute dependence on God: his desire to know God intimately led him to a life of obedience. God guided and in many cases, specifically instructed Joshua on how to lead the Israelites, and Joshua, in his humility, obeyed.

This is excellently researched with many other leaders (good and bad) lives portrayed: Churchill, Lincoln, Marlborough,Nixon, etc. Anecdotes are provided and compared to Joshua's walk.

Beautifully written with questions at the end of each chapter for practical application, this is a must read for all aspiring leaders.

Wonderful book. I had the workbook, from a study I was at, now with the book itself, it makes a perfect devotional study program, or for a church group. It is not a study on just "leadership", it shows what God did the in life of Joushua, and how He will use your gifts, no matter what they may be for His glory! A book worth buying, for spiriutal growth!

One statement in this book really hit home about leaders - they do not always grow up in the best enviroment. The authors tell how Joshua did not have the best home enviroment but under the leadership of God and God's leader Moses Joshua became what God wanted him to be. Great thoughts to ponder. I would recomment this book.
