Called to Healing is an exquisite blend of memoir and literary study of the myths that define what Jean Troy-Smith calls the "power of earth stories" in our lives. She explains not only this earth force -- call it intuition or the whisper of the Divine -- in our contemporary (and harried)lives, but also the mythological context. I recently heard Jean speak at a conference and was amazed at her ability to explain this topic to an audience with warmth, humor and feeling, without giving a "lecture." Called to Healing is literary alchemy...
