4.0 out of 5 stars Froehle's work widens readers' horizon, November 28, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Called into Her Presence: Praying With Feminine Images of God (Paperback)
My long-time question has been this: People of faith (Christians and Jews alike) call G-d "Our Father Our King," but what if I had such an abusive, irresponsible father as a child? This particular book by Froehle, a Catholic sister, focuses on feminine aspects of G-d found in the Bible. The first part of her book is dedicated to the history of "masculine" deity and its theological aspects. The second part of the book is a series of "exercises" you could do as a group or individually. They consist of feminine G-d guided imagery, psalm parallels (paraphrased Psalms) and personal rituals. "Called into Her presence" gives you a new perspective on the Holy One.
