This two-volume set is one of the most user-friendly calligraphy books available. It contains a good reference volume, with plenty of rich details about the history and function of various hands, and also contains a useful workbook to help guide the student towards mastery of various letterforms. The art of calligraphy is one with long history and great usefulness. If only more books made the practice more accessible.
