Yes, this is intended for kids,

The last reviewer gave this book only 2 stars stating that it's really intended for kids. Well yes, it's called a "Kid Kit" for a reason. My daughter loved this and it was a perfect introduction to calligraphy on a basic level. It comes with pens which is great because that saved us from having to find them in the store and from having her pick out really pricey ones that she doesn't yet need.

This book is really intended for kids - it has tons of pictures about the development of calligraphy, specialized writing, etc. It has little insightful information to help the beginner gain the basic skills of calligraphy
