Editorial Reviews

If you need a double shot of heavy to get your day off to a good start then Calling All Maniacs will deliver the swift kick in the ass needed to get your blood pumpin'. This sampler contains some of the heaviest tracks released in 2001 & 2002. Otep distributes a serious blow with the hardcore rap stylings of "T.R.I.C.," while Sinisstar pummels you with the dangerous grooves of "White Noise". Cinder's "Soul Creatin" delivers a swift right hook to the face, and Soil packs in lots of crunch and fury with "Halo". Static-X take pleasure in blowing out your eardrums with "Black and White," and "Rot" (Dry Kill Logic) is just plain deadly. If you're looking for a good ass kickin' this disc will leave you in a bloody pulp. CONTENTS: 1) ADEMA- "The Way You Like It" 2) STATIC X - "Black and White" 3) DOPE - "Stop" 4) DRY KILL LOGIC -"Rot" 5) MUSHROOMHEAD - "Solitaire/Unraveling" 6) STEREOMUD - "Steppin' Away" 7) CYPRESS HILL - "Trouble" 8) FLAW - "Payback" 9) SINISSTAR - "White Noise" 10) IMPUR - "Body Crumblez" 11) LOSTPROPHETS - "Shinobi vs. Dragon Ninja" 12) SLAYER - "God Send Death" 13) MESH - "Maybe Tomorrow" 14) CINDER - "Soul Creation"

5.0 out of 5 stars A great mix of Alternative Metal, November 28, 2009
This review is from: Calling All Maniacs (Audio CD)
For me, this CD came was the extra CD of Rob Zombie's "Sinister Urge" album. Its a great mix of Alternative Metal, and it has plenty of notable bands like Adema, Dope, Otep, Static-X, Lost Prophets, Cypress Hill and others. Most of them before they were popular (except Static-X and Cypress Hill). While none of the songs on here are rare, special or live, this is worth picking up and hearing. Even years later after getting this CD I still listen to it every so often. The first summer that I had it, I listened to it more than a lot. Here are some of the better songs on the compilation:

ADEMA- "The Way You Like It" - great song, played on the radio for quite a while
STATIC X - "Black and White" - their new hit song at the time
DOPE - "Stop" - this is 30 seconds longer than Dope's original Stop, but the extra 30 seconds isn't noticable
OTEP - "TRIC" - wow what a heavy, intense rapcore song. Its great and it was here, before Otep had a full length album
SOIL - "Halo" - its a heavy, catchy song
SINISSTAR - "White Noise" - is a good standout track
IMPUR - "Body Crumblez" - its nice, but doesn't stand up to the others
LOSTPROPHETS - "Shinobi vs. Dragon Ninja" - quick and speedy song with some nice guitar riffs
SLAYER - "God Send Death" - heavy metal, probably the heaviest on the CD
MESH - "Maybe Tomorrow" - this is a stand out gem that is radio ready, but for whatever reason it's eluded radio. I wish I could find more from this band it is such a good / catchy song!
