incredible harmony, songwriting and A1 production,

This (by the way, CallinG on Love) is one of the best independent releases I have heard.... Paul Kamm & Eleanore MacDonald should be more well known. Moody, thoughtful lyrics; introspective without being dark or preachy - like a good impressionist painting, many luscious colours. Harmonies & a blend that send shivers up your spine. 2 great covers, a Dead tune and a McTell celtic classic. Excellent playing and great production. Like glass. They have other CD's and more information available at songs.com/kammac

Another beautiful release from Kamm & MacDonald,

Once again, the neo impressionist folk renderings of Kamm & MacDonald strike a deep chord in the listener. Poignant & soulful lyrics, rich harmonies, and both haunting & lively melodies make this recording a diverse listening experience. On this, the duo's fifth release of extraordinary original material, they chose to include two covers. Their renditions of TO LAY ME DOWN & FROM CLARE TO HERE are a welcome addition, capturing the essence of these classics in a way that only Kamm & MacDonald could. As usual, the contributions of talented guest artists enhances the recording's overall feel. Some tracks on CALLING ON LOVE feature more extensive production than past releases, expanding the realm of possibility for this gifted duo. This release follows beautifully in the tradition of their first four recordings and clearly shows that Kamm & MacDonald continue to grow as artists over time.

This CD is fantastic from the first track to the last!! Paul and Eleanore's voices are so clear and the harmony is sensational!! My favorite track on this cd is LAST TANGO IN PARADISE and I highly recommend this for anyone who loves listening to peaceful, gorgeous music!!! I think this couple has been overlooked and that's a shame. LOVE THE CD. I will probably buy more of their music.

Paul Kamm & Eleanore MacDonald's voices blend so beautifully. This CD is an acoustic gem. The title track is my very favorite, "I guess we must be crazy tonight to dream of children sleeping tight, not playing under skies where bombs will fall, could it be that crazy after all." Ralph McTell's "From Clare to Here" is a beautiful tune polished to shine with Eleanore's gorgeous harmony. On "Last Tango In Paradise" they pick up the tempo with a catchy melody to protest the spread of suburbia. Mikail Graham's atmospherics give "Home" a spooky quality while Alasdair Fraser's fiddle makes this beautiful arrangement shine. "Broken Down On Easy Street" is another of my favorites, a bouncy toe tapper, "No more sweethearts in Cadillacs broken down on Easy Street tonight." They cull a track from Jerry Garcia's "Garcia" LP and transform it into a beautiful reading, highlighting the melody on "To Lay Me Down." In a wistful look at the past on "The Great Highway," Paul sings, "Now I recognize more than I used to in photographs of lovers from 1952." "Chasing the Storm" is a peppy tune that snakes seductively. The CD concludes with "The Queen of Northern Lights," a decidedly Celtic feel given by Alasdair Fraser's fiddle. This is a strong set, timeless in its simplicity, deliciously rendered with beautiful vocals and harmonies. Enjoy!
