Inactive ingredients: bismuth subgallate, glyceryl stearate, hydrogenated vegetable oil, methylparaben propylparaben. SUGGESTED USE:When practical, cleanse the affected area by patting or blotting with an appropriate cleansing pad. Gently dry by patting or blotting with toilet tissue or a soft cloth before application of this product. Detach one suppository from the strip, remove wrapper before inserting into rectum as follows: slowly peel down film wrapper by pulling evenly and slowly on tabs to expose suppository. Insert 1 suppository into the rectum up to 6 times daily or after each bowel movement. Children under 12 years of age: Consult a doctor.

I tried Calmol for the first time and found it to be a very effective product. As anyone knows who has hemorrhoids, using the right product means the difference between relief and additional irritation. I can't stand the applicators that come with the creams, so I prefer the suppositories. The unique shape of Calmol makes them easy to insert, and there is little breakage. I do suggest, however, that you heed the manufacturer's advice and keep them in the refrigerator, because they do melt easily, especially after you unwrap them.

As an old Pharmacist, I remember making these suppositories in Pharmacy School in the early 1950s...Good product, harmless, but perfect for the condition in which it is used
