4.0 out of 5 stars springform pan
It works great! The latch tarnished a little after cooking but other than that it works great.

1.0 out of 5 stars Incorrect product description
The product description say this pan is 9"by9"by3" when in fact it is 9"by9"by2 1/2". To small for my use, I had to send it back.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy and stays clean, June 26, 2007

I'm really happy with this pan, I've made several cheese cakes with it now and haven't had a problem. The latch has a very solid feel when opening or closing. Cleaning has been extremely easy so far, a quick soak in warm water and everything wipes right off.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE THIS PAN, April 10, 2011

Last Christmas, I had some last minute baking to do and purchased this pan along with Nordicware's 3-pc. Springform Pan Set (seemed like a good deal for 3 stackable pans). I used the calphalon 9" and also Nordicware's 9" to make a layer cake. Both pans worked well, but I preferred calphalon because of the weight. It seemed so solid and had a good feel to it. I've used it for cheesecakes and also a regular white cake for coconut cake - turned out beautifully without sticking.

I was going to return the nordicware, but decided to could use the smaller pans for small cakes/cheesecakes.

USEFUL TIP:
To avoid rusting on any metallic cookware, I wash them by hand and pop them in a warm oven (200 degrees or so). This eliminates any possibility of rust forming in hard-to-reach corners. Do the same for cookie cutters, etc.

The first cheesecake baked in this pan was for Christmas. This pan exceeded my expectations! The surface is truly non-stick as the cheesecake filling pulled away effortlessly with almost no cake filling adhering to the pan. I have used more expensive pans in the past and I believe this pan out-performs in all areas! Its heavy weight and over sized clasp make it a pleasure to bake with. BUY THIS PAN!

2.0 out of 5 stars Nonstick aspect is great but the pan leaks, April 2, 2011

This review is from: Calphalon Classic Bakeware 9-Inch Round Nonstick Springform Pan (Kitchen)
I have two of these pans. I have baked with them 4 times and each time one or both of them has leaked batter into my oven. Of course I am very careful to make sure that the bottom is seated right before pouring in batter. They don't leak so badly that anything is dripping when I put them in the oven, but when I look in the oven I can see a couple globs of batter on the bottom of the oven. The cakes turn out fine and in fact it is very easy to get them cleanly out of the pan, but it is not worth cleaning up the mess in my oven. I am getting rid of these and buying the non-springform pans.

4.0 out of 5 stars Inconsistent base plate sizes, January 2, 2012
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Calphalon Classic Bakeware 9-Inch Round Nonstick Springform Pan (Kitchen)
I have several of these pans. Bought over a span of months. The size is 9 inch but depending on the manufacturing batch of the pan, the pans will vary in size and have slight but noticable color variations.. Mixing base plates from their matched springform will readily show the poor quality control. Some plates are small and seal in their matching springform, but try to use it in another springform and it will rattle around, not seal and leak. Even with the clamp locked down. Three layers of parchment paper might seal the gap but none should be needed at all.

Try to use a larger plate in the "smaller" springform one cannot lock the springform latch, it is too large.

All springform pans and the base plates mentioned are 9 inch Calphalons.

When base plate and springform are matched they do not leak and work great. If yours leak you may have a mismatched base plate and springform.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed :-(, December 29, 2010

This review is from: Calphalon Classic Bakeware 9-Inch Round Nonstick Springform Pan (Kitchen)
I was so excited to get a new springform pan, but this one was quite a disappointment. Perhaps most, if not all, of these pans leak, but this one leaked like a sieve. Cheesecake filling all over the place and if that will leak out...water in a Bain-marie would certainly leak in. Now had Calphalon's site not specifically stated that this pan was "leakproof" it wouldn't have been such a disappointment.
Having had good luck with another brand, I did send this pan back and bought another from the other company.
The return was handled quickly and I now have a new pan that I love!!
