I consider myself very finicky about cookware and have been a little dissatisfied with this roaster. The finish, at least on mine, is nothing like the hard-an interior of the other calphalon pans I own - it is more porous and a BEAR to clean. After roasting the thanksgiving turkey and deglazing the pan, it took days of soaking, reheating with liquid, and scrubbing with the suggested cleansers to get it back to even passable condition. It still has permanent discolorations from the food. The pan has excellent fit and finish, holds heat well, and feels great, but if mine is an indication, it will be difficult to maintain in a presentable condition, even if you deglaze thoroughly and take special care in cleaning. If this is not an issue for you, this is probably the heaviest, most well engineered pan you can buy for the money.

There are a number of brands that offer roasting pans, but after buying and using this set, I am hard pressed to think of ways that the competition may excell. The tools are sturdy, and useful(!). The pan is built like it was destined for commercial service, and the rack is non stick. I know that the pan is offered in non stick coating as well, but for some things, I prefer the effect of anodized auminum or bare stainless steel. Roasting is one of those things. Gravy just works better in this environment. Clean up isn't too bad either. I have not tried it yet, but I'll bet that this pan would make a killer lasagna. It's the right size, and the characteristics of the thick aluminum casing seem to be ideal for the task. I'll append the result to this review in a week or two.

This is the best roasting pan I have ever worked with! Beef, poultry, lamb, you name it. It is great for making lasagna (note: it takes two boxes and will feed about 20.) The forks make lifting any turkey a breeze. If you are really into seasoning meat, then get this set for the injector alone. I've even used this pan to make a large sheet cake. I've never had any problems cleaning it. Don't ever use any kind of steel wool or scotch-rite scrubber on Calphalon, and don't put it in the dishwasher, it will ruin it. The best part - the price Amazon offers - you won't find a better value.

This pan is great!! I have used it to make turkey and Prime Rib. The meat never sticks to the roasting rack, it cooks perfect and the Hard Anodized pan makes the best gravy you will ever taste. I just bought one for my mother and one for my grandmother b/c they always rave about the gravy I make with my turkey.

My husband bought this pan and I thought he was crazy for spending so much on a pan. It was worth every penny! He loves to cook roasts which means I am usually the one cleaning up. None of the burned grizzle sticks to this pan. It just slides right off! The lifters are great too. The baster also has a pointy end and works as an injector too. Great pan! I highly recommend it!

What do you look for in a roaster? I look for size, workmanship, price... all of which this thing has. The rack that comes with it is sturdy and does a good job. The lifters? They'll be nice for Halloween too...no, just kidding.. I haven't used the lifters yet and never have before... but hey... even without em, i'm happy.

What can ya say about a roasting pan? Well, it's sturdy, the handles are not as awkward to grab as I thought they would be from looking at them in the picture, the rack is heavy duty... and I haven't used the lifters. This pan should last you your lifetime... unless your into changing the look of your cooking wear often.

I simply love the caphalon roasting pan! Its great because it is non-stick and large - which allows me to cook a good amount of food, such as two chicken or a turkey. I have had mine for over five years and use it extensively. Now I'm buying one for my friend because she always wants to borrow mine..!
