This is a delightful piece of cookware. The ability to span two burners allows for making enough pancakes to feed a family or to cook and keep warm at the same time! The heat is spread very evenly without any hot spots. There is absolutely no need for oil or butter (I use butter/olive oil for flavor!) as the nonstick works wonderfully. There are two corners that are "crimped" which allow for the easy pouring off of bacon/sausage grease without it running to the underside of the griddle (a really nice touch). There is a depression which runs all the way around the griddle and collects the grease of bacon or sausage.

It is very easy to clean but does require some special handling. First, never put this griddle in a dishwasher (I doubt it would fit). There will be significant discoloration of the anodized aluminum. Second, use only non metal utensils, the metal ones WILL SCRATCH the surface.

Overall, this griddle is as good as I have ever used (in my 40+ years of cooking). This griddle is a real pleasure to use .

Some doubts have been raised by some of the previous reviewers as to the particular Calphalon line that this piece is from. This was a big deal for me as well so I called Calphalon, provided the model number off of the box and was assured that this is indeed a Calphalon Commercial Nonstick product. Also, while the packaging materials do not use the word "Commercial" anywhere on the box, it is reassuring to note that the pan is in the typical green box that most "Collector's Edition" Calphalon COMMERCIAL nonstick pieces are packaged in.

I was hesitant to purchase this griddle after reading one reviewers thoughts about using it on a ceramic top stove, but went ahead because I had a gift certificate. And boy am I glad I did! This has become one of mine and my husband's favorite pieces.

First, the griddle is HUGE! It will not fit in the oven, but that's fine by me. We use this griddle for everything from bacon, eggs and pancakes on Sunday mornings to grilled cheese, hamburger, chicken, fish and more on weeknights. It's great to be able to make six or eight pancakes at a time! Now the whole family eats sooner!

The pan has great heft and the non-stick surface is great. There is a deep chamber all around that pulls fat away from your food. It's very easy to clean too!

The pan works just fine on a ceramic stove cooktop (the kind without raised burners). It heats evenly and stays put.

The only problem I have with this pan is that it is so large, I need bigger cabinets. I think I will just ask my husband for a larger house!

Granted, it should have been a little more obvious to me that this would not work on my oven after looking at the picture a bit more closely. 1) I have a standard-sized oven and 2) the oven top is a flat-top design. Because of of the size of my oven, I cannot fit it back to front as most griddles are designed to work. Because of the type of my oven (a flat top) I cannot use this because the cooking surface is elevated above the bottom of the pan (there is a reservoir along the sides that is flush with the bottom). If you have gas or electric (with elevated burners) this should work ok for you (although I still cannot gaurantee that it will fit front-to-back).

I've read the previous reviews about not being able to use it with this type of stove, but I have had no problems!! It works great! I was able to make pancakes, home fries and eggs all at the same time and it was a snap to clean up. It is a little big to store in my cabinets, but I have a closet right off my kitchen so it gets stored in there.

Got this delightful piece of cookware at the Amazon Friday sale for below $30. The best time to purchase this product is the `Friday Sale'. It is often featured during the Friday sale, so get it then if you can.

The Nonstick Griddle is a real pleasure to use and its ability to span two burners is a good feature that helps in making cooking easier and faster. The vast cooking area allows for cooking multiple pancakes, patties etc at the same time, which is a boon that helps in saving time. The product is also of good quality and is also easy to clean (even though it does not fit in a dishwasher).

The only downside is that it is quite bulky, thus taking up some space in the kitchen/ cabinet. Another improvement would be to make the handles a little wider. I would also recommend that you check your stove size for compatibility. Overall it is a very good Calphalon Commercial Nonstick product well worth the price.

This griddle is worth $75-$85 at a minimum. When I opened the box I was pleasantly surprised with the wieght and feel of this product. It is Calphalon - which is always great cookware - so I should not have been so surprised.

This is the first griddle I have ever owned and I love it!

It is extremely easy to clean -nothing sticks. I have always been one who's had a difficult time making eggs-over-easy (sticking, angle, etc...), but I've made them perfectly every time I've attempted with this! The surface heats evenly, even in the area between the burners, so there's no "getting to know" your cooking area. I was a little worried when I read about the handles making the griddle not fit properly on the stove-top, but I have a standard electric stove & have no problems.

I love this piece!

I love my new griddle! Heats evenly. You can even fry bacon on it because the well around the edge is deep. We only had one problem -- the handles. The dials for my stove are at the back on a piece that slightly extends over the stove top. The handles were just high enough to hit that piece and prevent the griddle from laying flat on the two burners. NOT A PROBLEM! My husband welds and works with metal and so he gently removed the handle from one end. I believe he said he drilled out the fasteners thereby preserving the handle -- I could reattach it later if desired. If you don't have the equipment or knowledge for this modification, I am sure you could take it to a welding shop and they could easily do the same. It would be well worth the effort.

This Calphalon Nonstick 13X20 rectangular griddle is very good. It is large enough to cover 2 burners on our commercial gas range. It is thick enough for even heating. The nonstick surface is very slippery; nothing sticks, even cooking residue just wipes off. You only need oil/cooking spray/butter for the foods that require browning. The only flaw is the large grease channel. With it, actual cooking surface is only 10.25"X 17.75" Without it , the cooking surface would be truly large at 12"X19.5".
