After using several sets of "included" steak knives with various cutlery blocks, I finally decided to buy a set of steak knives. These are very elegant, do a great job of cutting, and feel quite nice in the hand. So far, they have retained a good edge as well.

As with any knives, hand-washing is better for the blade, but these have weathered the dishwasher with no trouble.

Overall, for the price and the look, I am highly satisfied with the set.

I received these knives free from a coupon off of another calphalon pan and they are the best steak knives I've ever owned. I'm going to buy another set and at $19.99 they are a wonderful bargain. I've put them in the dishwasher for six months now and they are still like new. These are one solid piece, cut like a dream, and look elegant. There are six people at our house but only four knives and everyone fights for these knives.

I've been using them for six months and I haven't had any problems with the handles rusting (like another review on here says). They are great so far.

I bought this set a month ago and was amazed to discover that the handles rust very easily ! I usually really like Calphalon stuff but these knives suck. Do not buy.

I had a set of steak knives sent to me as a result of buying another Calphalon product and since the first time we used them we loved them. They look like a very fine cutlery and do an amazing job slicing any kind of food. Even though I wash them in the dishwasher, they look fine and cut finely. Even some of our friends were impressed when they tried them. I would recommend them to everyone.

I chose this set of knives because of the Calphalon name (I love my cookware!), German steel use, and the description, "Hygienic fiberglass-reinforced poly resin handle will not absorb moisture, crack, split, or chip." I was disappointed to find that one of the sets I ordered was already showing signs of rust -- even though the set was unused and delivered in a "sealed" box, all four handles had rust marks.
