This is a great pan. Use for stir fry and large quantities of food. The lid also fits the 10" fry pan. Love Calphalon products and their warranty is great.

When I cook I tend to cook a lot of whatever I'm making. Often that means a lot of cleaning up and many dirty pots. That is where this beast comes in. Make no mistake about, this is one big pan! Fortunately it's not too heavy being made out of aluminium (if was copper like some of my other saute pans it would weigh a ton!).
When I am cooking something that involves first browning meat, then adding vegetables and eventually adding a sauce this pan can hold it all. I can make enough for ten or more people. It is great for: * Meat pasta sauces like a Ragu (not the brand, the real thing) or Bolognese-stlye meat sauce * Chicken Korma * Chili I even use it for just browning meat without crowding it. This is an affordable pan for it's size. I use it often and it has held up well. If you are not into large quanities you may not need this, but if you have a large family or entertain big groups you could do much worse.

So you want a pan to braise those rolled roasts, or give that flank steak roast something to do, other than the trad. London Broil. Simply put, Hooooo doggy, now this is the pan..
