I love to bbq, but when it's 40 degrees below zero, I usually say "forget about it"! Not since I bought my new calphalon grill pan, it heats my steak evenly and quickly and adds those nice grill marks. I add just a little liquid smoke to give it the outdoors taste and that's a damn good steak! The pan cleans up pretty easy and looks great in the kitchen.

I wish this grill was a better product, because it certainly is a great way to cook fish, etc., but the surface is impossible to clean completely. Also, it warped, and on our Kitchenaid glass-top stove it no longer lies flat. This product is really not up to the Calphalon standard.

Made in China, this pan lacks the true quality of American made Calphalon pans. The interior has still a decent finish, with good quality anodizing, providing an ideal cooking surface. The handle is rough cast stainless. The bottom of the pan has all the indentation lines that form the "grill" suface, and has a very rough, poor texture. It works well enough, but I don't think this pan truely caters to the "Collector."

This pan is so hard to clean I finally stopped using it and it also warped. It was a very big disappointment and not up tp Calphalon's usual standards. Buyer beware you will most certainly be dispappointed with this grill.

The food tastes great and cooking is a breeze. Much better than lugging a George Foreman around!! Just remember to clean the pan, deglaze it first. Otherwise, cleaning is a real pain:)

I was given this grill for christmas with the warning of a bad rating becuase of cleaning. I think this is ridiculous, cleaning the grill is a snap. It is a wonderful tool for winter time burgers when it is snowing too hard for the barbeque grill. Cleaning is a snap! All of you bad reviewers read up! Pour two to three cups of water on the grill and a few squirts of dawn, put the grill back on the stove to simmer for ten minutes. Grab a paper towel and wipe it clean! It is that simple.

Was a little disappointed with this pan. Neither the finish nor the performance live up to the Calphalon name. I own probably 10-15 separate calphalon pieces (Commercial Hard Anodized, Commercial Non Stick, Calphalon One, Triply) some made in the US, some in China, all of them leaps and bounds above this pan. I suppose it works well enough and Amazon is not asking too much for it but in all honesty you're probably better off getting a different grill pan or for the same price the 12" Calphalon Hard Anodized Everyday Pan.

I will disagree, however, with several users that complain about cleanup. If you read the instruction booklet that come with the pan, you'll not only understand that the pan isn't "non-stick" but also why, for this type of pan, you don't want non-stick. When browning and searing (meat in particular) Non stick has a tendecy (because you're cooking on plastic essentially) to steam the food rather than sear and brown it. Now that's not to say you can't brown in a non-stick (calphalon's commercial N/S is especially good in this regard) but that you will generally get better results and better tasting food if you use anodized aluminum for this type of cooking. Give the pan a quick deglaze after cooking and cleanup will be alot easier And you'll have a fantastic sauce base to work with...

Anyway I probably wouldn't buy this pan again due to its sub standard fit and finish, but for the occasional indoor grilling its not bad for the price...

I bought mine because I trusted the calphalon name. but when I took It out of the box I knew something was wrong, It did not feel right, Its much to light which will cause your food to stick, making more work for you when Its time to clean up. this is not commercial cookware and should not be advertised as such.I'm sending mine back.

This is a great deal for a quality piece of Calphalon cookware, that normally costs way more than what amazon is selling it for. Please note, this is not a non-stick cookware - and cleaning is not quite so easy.

To help with cleaning, after removing the food you've cooked, keep it on the heat, and add some water and continue heating. This will loosen up any pieces that have stuck to the pan. Or, better yet, make a sauce by deglazing the pan: After you finish grilling, remove the excess fat, add a small amount of liquid, (like wine, stock, lemon juice, sherry, etc) to the grill pan and start stirring. Get into the grooves of the pan with a wooden spoon to get all the bits up into the sauce.
Oh and it's important that you remove the pan from the heat when adding anything alcoholic so you don't burn your face off!

I just received this grill pan a couple of days ago. I find that it is lighter than other Commercial Hard Anodized pans but works just as well. The outside is rougher than the inside. I made some grilled chicken which I finished in the oven. There was a lot of baked on sauce but I didn't find it too difficult to clean. I just put the grill back on the burner with some water and soap. After about 15 min. of simmering, everything washed right off with a scrub sponge. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. The skewers are a nice addition.
