5.0 out of 5 stars I'll never own other bakeware!
This angel food pan is certainly the best I've ever owned. I was so tired of making what had the potential to be a great cake, only to have half of it left in the pan, despite my best efforts. Since buying my first piece, I've cleaned my cabinets of all my old bakeware, and replaced everything with Calphalon.

This is as close to perfect as you can get with an angel food...

This angel food cake pan is STEEL construction, not aluminum. Just got my pan, via Amazon, made in China, and yeah it is heavy. Steel is so much heavier than aluminum. Check this out: try a magnet on it. It sticks everywhere. Aluminum is not ferromagnetic.

This is as close to perfect as you can get with an angel food cake pan. You should definitely follow Calphalon's directions when they say prep the pan as you would any other, and follow the cake recipe as though this were not a non-stick pan. That is the only way you are going to have the easy slide-out.

Take note of the fact that you can't stack Calphalon - make sure you've got the room to store it, and are prepared to take the time to care for it properly. (Paper towels in between)

Also, you cannot put it in the dishwasher. This is a very important point when it comes to Calphalon.

Again, make sure you read the use and care instructions.

You will never need to own another cake pan again.

What clued me in? One of my other pans, a "heavy gauge aluminum construction" (printed right on the box) Calphalon Commercial 11 x 17 large bake pan is RUSTING. Also made in China. All steel construction.

I paid way too much for conventional rust-prone steel.

This is a nice, heavy duty cake pan. I bought it to make Flan Cake and it works wonderfully. Glad I bought 2.

5.0 out of 5 stars I bought some of this bakeware recently..., March 22, 2005
This review is from: Calphalon Commercial Bakeware Angel Food Cake Pan (Kitchen)
...it's fabulous, weighty, deep and very easy to clean.
I would not use anything else now! I was seduced in to trying the bakeware after buying the pan set in the same range, which is equally brilliant. If you want weighty, good, old fashioned stuff that won't break the bank or your back and has the added bonus of being easy care, then this is for you!
Absolutely perfect stuff for wedding lists and gifts!

2.0 out of 5 stars Nonstick?, April 10, 2008
This review is from: Calphalon Commercial Bakeware Angel Food Cake Pan (Kitchen)
I bought this pan only to use for angel food cakes because it said non stick. Well it sticks and because the bottom doesn't come out like a traditional pan it makes it very hard to get the cake out. I have to line it with parchment paper. It is heavy duty and bakes well but I wouldn't call it nonstick.

This review is from: Calphalon Commercial Bakeware Angel Food Cake Pan (Kitchen)
I ordered this pan for the sole purpose of baking pound cakes. I am very please with the results. It's an excellent substitute for the conventional tube pan I use.
