Calphalon Commercial Large Loaf Pan - Excellent!, May 16, 2003
This review is from: Calphalon Commercial Bakeware Large Loaf Pan (Kitchen)
The Calphalon Commercial Nonstick Bakeware line is excellent. The nonstick coating is superb, they are heavy, sturdy and very well made. The nonstick coating is so slippery nothing sticks to it. I have the large, medium and mini set of loaf pans and they are all fantastic. The large and medium sizes are great for breads, banana bread, pound cake, etc. and the minis are great for holiday baked gifts or personalized desserts. Who wouldn't like their own mini pound cake?
Although you could, I don't use my bakeware for meats, I prefer to use bakeware for baking and stainless (All Clad) or stoneware (Le Creuset Poterie) for meats and meatloaf.
One note: you may want to check on your baked goods a couple of minutes early. I have noticed that everything is done a little quicker in pans with a dark finish. Many newer recipes will indicate the timing for dark finish bakeware. These pans are also a breeze to clean, just a little soap and water and you are done.
Also, read the Calphalon brochure in the box, if you plan to nest this pan with others make sure to put a paper towel between them to prevent any damage to the nonstick coating. And, this pan is not dishwasher safe.
I wouldn't even trade my Calphalon Commercial Nonstick bakeware for All Clad bakeware, all my cookware is All Clad and I love it but nothing beats high quality, heavy duty Nonstick bakeware! Wonderful Pans! Highly recommended!

misleading advertising, August 5, 2005
This review is from: Calphalon Commercial Bakeware Large Loaf Pan (Kitchen)
The advertising claims "heavy gauge aluminum construction". Not true. Calphalon Commercial Bakeware is aluminized steel. Mine are starting to RUST. They put a really really thin coat of aluminum over the steel to help it heat more evenly. But this is alot to pay for a conventional rust-prone steel pan. And their customer service sucks. They haven't answered my complaint about the rust problem on the non-stick inside surface where there is a seam, which affects flavor of baked goods.

Calphalon loaf Pan, May 23, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Calphalon Commercial Bakeware Large Loaf Pan (Kitchen)
I have taken much pride in my kitchen wares, only buying what I thought was better products. Then I discovered Calphalon! I am presently replacing everything. I purchased this large loaf pan and compared it to what I presently have. The pan is heavier and obviously is of quality. I could not beleive the results that I acheived with this pan. I immediately got rid of my other three loaf pans and will only purchase Calphalon from now on.
