I own mostly Calphalon nonstick cookware and this was my first hard anodized purchase.

This has become my favorite pan for cooking chicken, pork chops, and steak. It heats evenly and quickly. It browns the meat beautifully and releases the food well if you've cooked it properly. The pan is a good size for two people.

Now that I have a bigger family, I'll have to upgrade to a bigger size.

I was very disappointed with this skillet and sent it back. It was lightweight in comparison to the original hard anodized caphalon set that I bought 11 years ago and it was made in China not Ohio. I hope that Caphalon does not continue eroding the quality of their fabulous product. Bring back the orignal Caphalon and keep manufacturing in Ohio.

This could be a nice pan, but non-stick is simply wishful thinking.

Almost all of our pots 'n pans are Calphalon and we are never hesitant to recommend the line. Their hard-anodized ware is normally superb.

That isn't the case with this particular pan. Simply put, as others have said, it sticks. It transfers heat nicely, is well built and of a convenient design. But one would expect a pan described as "9-inch 2-quart skillet made of heavy-gauge aluminum with hard-anodized nonstick finish" to, well, not stick.

To use this pan, I first rub the pan with olive oil, bring it up to desired cooking temperature and then cook with additional oil or butter. Way too much trouble for a non-stick finish. Fried eggs are particularly troublesome.

Cannot recommend this pan.

Edit on 12/16/11:
Having bought a replacement pan (Anolon Advanced Bronze Collection Hard Anodized Nonstick 8-Inch Open French Skillet) that works very well, I gave up on this pan and trashed it. It was just way to much trouble to be worth using any longer. Good riddance.
