I own mostly Calphalon nonstick cookware and this was my first hard anodized purchase.

This has become my favorite pan for cooking chicken, pork chops, and steak. It heats evenly and quickly. It browns the meat beautifully and releases the food well if you've cooked it properly. The pan is a good size for two people.

Now that I have a bigger family, I'll have to upgrade to a bigger size.

I was very disappointed with this skillet and sent it back. It was lightweight in comparison to the original hard anodized caphalon set that I bought 11 years ago and it was made in China not Ohio. I hope that Caphalon does not continue eroding the quality of their fabulous product. Bring back the orignal Caphalon and keep manufacturing in Ohio.

This could be a nice pan, but non-stick is simply wishful thinking.

Almost all of our pots 'n pans are Calphalon and we are never hesitant to recommend the line. Their hard-anodized ware is normally superb.

That isn't the case with this particular pan. Simply put, as others have said, it sticks. It transfers heat nicely, is well built and of a convenient design. But one would expect a pan described as "9-inch 2-quart skillet made of heavy-gauge aluminum with hard-anodized nonstick finish" to, well, not stick.

To use this pan, I first rub the pan with olive oil, bring it up to desired cooking temperature and then cook with additional oil or butter. Way too much trouble for a non-stick finish. Fried eggs are particularly troublesome.

Cannot recommend this pan.

Having bought a replacement pan (Anolon Advanced Bronze Collection Hard Anodized Nonstick 8-Inch Open French Skillet) that works very well, I gave up on this pan and trashed it. It was just way to much trouble to be worth using any longer. Good riddance.

I like this for everything. the thing that is nicest is the tall sides. you can cook anything from stir fry, fried chicken for 2, making scrambled eggs... I even use it for boiling ramen noodles with it. I myself have had no problem with clean up, maybe the people having problems with the pan make sugar candy or caramel sauce but I don't even use oil most of the time and it still cleans up fine.

Calphalon cookware is THE best, in my opinion. It is not a cheap immitation of good cookware, it IS good cookware.
Buy with confidence. If treated right, it will last a lifetime.

A little lighter than my other Calphalon commercial cook wear, but for the price, $32.00 from Amazon, a good buy and a very useful size for my needs.

THIS PRODUCT IS MEARLY ANOTHER FRAIL KITCHEN GADGIT, DESTINED FOR THE NEXT GARAGE SALE. OTHER CALPHALON COMMERCIAL WEAR IS AT LEAST TWICE THE THICKNESS OF OF THIS ITEM AND MADE FOR YEARS OF SERVICE, THIS PAN IS NOT OF THAT QUALITY.

Got this a couple of days ago. You will fall in love with the size, shape and quality the moment you unwrap this. Really good quality. Really light weight, and so easier to hand wash.

I hope this keeps up with my expectation in the longer term.. :)

We have had this pan for some time. It is a GREAT shaped pan....just what I wanted for sauteing onions and other foods. But....and this is a BIG BUT.....the bottom of our pan warped. It warped downwards, and now the pan won't sit flat on our electric stove. It might work great on a gas range, but on our kitchen stove, it wobbles all over the place. I don't know if we ever shocked it by rinsing it while it was still hot. I can't tell you if the fault is ours or in the pan construction, but it's been one of my former favorite pans to hate. Maybe a good WHAP from a wooden mallet in the center of the pan might remove the warp.

The pan has decent non-stick qualities. It isn't of the same material as truly non-stick pans, but then again, I don't like to have to baby my pans. I want to cook on them and use whatever utensil is necessary, including metal ones. If a trip to the shop and the mallet works, I'll re-edit my review.

I am very happy with the skillet. Husband, not so much. It was a real selling point for me that it had a lid. The deep shape takes some getting used to.
