Calphalon's nonstick cookware combines the superior heat conductivity of a sturdy hard anodized, heavy-gauge aluminum exterior with a high performance nonstick interior finish. This chef's skillet heats quickly and evenly and its nonstick surface makes it simple to cook with little or no fat or oil. And it's a great multipurpose pan--equally well suited for creating a perfect risotto or a Bolognese sauce. The cast stainless-steel handle has a comfortable grip that stays cool to the touch on the burner, the rounded bottom makes stirring easy, the domed stainless-steel cover seals in moisture while cooking, and the all-metal construction means the skillet can move from the stovetop to the oven. Its generous 6-quart capacity is wonderful for preparing larger dishes and the handy helper-handle makes it easy to lift the skillet when full. Caring for Calphalon nonstick cookware is easy: hand wash in hot, soapy water with a nonabrasive cleaning pad, but don't put it in the dishwasher, and be sure to use only plastic or wood, not metal, utensils.
