This item is not compatible with ceramic cooktops.

We have bought three electric griddles in the past 15 years. They have all had hot spots and heated unevenly. This has been problematic for our resident weekend breakfast chef and pancake flipper extrodinaire. The Calphalon Collector's Edition Double Griddle has put an end to his weekend AM frustrations. This griddle heats very evenly (even with our old electric stove which requires the griddle span a large burner and a small burner). The griddle easily handles large quantities of bacon and sausage. The drip well managed the drippings from 2 full pounds of bacon without a problem. Cleanup required only draining the drippings and a wipe with a paper towel to prepare to cook pancakes. This griddle made light fluffy pancakes which were very evenly browned (something we were never able to accomplish with any of our electric griddles).

We will be putting this item into service for many more uses. The evenness of heating and quick cleanup are strong advantages.

We highly reccommend this griddle to anyone looking for a spacious griddle with even heating quality and super easy cleanup.

This griddle is truly amazing. You can cook 12 small or 6 large pancakes at a time, or scramble 18 eggs. The deep edges keep everything where it should be, and the little gully around the side contains any butter while you're cooking your pancakes. We have a solid surface cooktop, and it works just fine, but I think it would do much better on a gas stove. The bottom is somewhat concave, which means it doesn't have continuous contact with the surface and takes a bit longer to heat up. But once it gets going, watch out! Cleans up like a dream. I could even see cooking burgers or fried ham on it.

Are you frustrated trying to fry rectangular bacon slices in a round "frying pan"? Even a pseudo-pound (12 oz.) package requires 2-4 (depending on how determined you are) different batches in a 10" pan. If you have better things to do with your Sunday mornings, just pull out this instant stove converter, and -- voila! -- you are suddenly the chef in a trendy '50's diner, and (much more importantly) your work has just been cut to 1/2 to 1/4 of what you expected. Pancakes, French toast, hash browns, sausage patties, eggs (fried or scrambled) ... you name it ... likewise become -- in whatever combination you choose -- things to be prepared in some finite amount of time instead of an endlessly ongoing series of individual chores.

In the Calphalon tradition, the heavy-gauge aluminum distributes the heat from both burners into an even cooking, hotspot free cooking surface that allows you to complete breakfast without developing subconscious resentments towards those who will eat it.

Of course, this wonderful piece of cookware has many applications beyond breakfast, but it's at breakfast that its virtues become most apparent; after (literally!) sponging off the griddle and setting it out to dry, you can go socialize and bask in the sincere compliments you'll receive. It IS pricey (like all Calphalon), but look at it this way: how many trips to your friendly neighborhood IHOP (including tax and tip) will it save you?

I bought this for my wife thinking it would take up alot of space and be hard to clean. Being the main dish cleaner, that was a major worry. I was really surprised!! It cleans with a paper towel and if needed a little soap and water. It's heavy enough that it doesn't slip and slide around on the stove too. We use it almost every day.

Yes it works great, and you can fit lots of food on it. BUT - it didn't work so great on my ceramic cooktop, because of the way mine is configured. I could only fit the griddle on the biggest heating element and the smallest. Still, although it took a long time to heat up before I could pour the batter, it did a good job with the only fault being that it never did heat up the outer edges of the griddle where the small element didn't reach. Otherwise I would give it 5 stars.

This is the perfect fit for my dacor gas cooktop. The raised handles and pouring lip allow you to easily discard accumulated grease.

If you need or just want a big double griddle you don't have to look any farther then this Calphalon Commercial nonstick!At this price $39.99 I bought two of them...give one away for XMas, or Chunnuka...

I had a new farberwear Griddle, that did work good, but slid all over my Gas Range, and was a bit smaller!
This Calphalon is bigger, heavier and cleans up with ease.
I'm very much into Healthy food, and with this Griddle (or any Caphalon commercial nonstick)you do not need any butter or oil.
I make Healthy pancakes, and nothing sticks on this griddle, I asume that bacon and eggs would work just as well.I would think you could make grill cheese sandwichs and the list could go on and on what you could use this griddle for.I think you can also use this on top of your gas Bar/Q!...

The way the handles go up at the ends, alows it to fit under the end of my stove back. If it had the stright handles and being this size it would not fit over the burners even.It would stick out over the fount of my stove.

I don't understand when someone says all you have to do is wipe this clean using paper towels? I'm sure it would be clean looking, but Its certianly is not sanatary! I just use a sponge & water with soap and its clean.

This is garenteed for life , but if You put any Calphlon into the dishwaster,it voids the garrentee.If you use metal utensils this would scratch it and then it would not be under the garrentee. I would never put any good cookware or good Knifes into the dishwasher.Although I do think you can put the stainless steel lids from other Calpalon into the dishwasher but not anything else of Calphalon.

I LOVE THIS GRIDDLE. The size is great and with the handles sticking up instead of out they do not hit the back of the stove when it is placed over two burners. This one has it all. The even heating is great so you are not constantly moving food around for even heating. It is heavy so it stays where you put it and is not slipping around if bumped. The cleaning up is so easy too. I have never had a griddle clean up so well with just hot water and soap. No sticky spots or hard places to clean. It is not supposed to go in the dishwasher but I would never put it there anyway because it would take up too much room. It really is a wonderful size. If you are looking for a griddle, this one is great. ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL

I don't know how I got along without it!
I can make 8 pancakes at a time, cook a pound of bacon at once to name a few things I do with this griddle. If you entertain often or have a large family, it is a must. I even got a few for family and friends! Amazon has the best price. I've had mine for about 2 years and I still use it all the time. I paid a lot more for mine at a department store.
