Coupled with the big universal steamer insert that is included, this 2-1/2-quart saucepot provides lots of versatility for a cook--from simmering a pasta sauce to steaming vegetables to braising a pot roast in the oven under its domed, stainless-steel lid. The pot is made of harder-than-steel anodized aluminum with a nonstick interior that's oven-safe to 450 degrees F, and its riveted, cast-stainless-steel handle resists heat on the stovetop. The pot measures 7-1/2 inches in diameter and 4-1/2 inches deep. The stainless-steel steamer measures 8 inches in diameter and 4-1/2 inches deep. Calphalon's Commercial Nonstick cookware is coated with an especially durable, multilayered nonstick. (For long life, only plastic, nylon, and wood utensils are recommended.) The pot's matte-finish exterior won't chip, crack, or peel. Heavy-gauge so it cooks without hot spots or warping, the pan carries a lifetime warranty against defects, as does the steamer.
