I bought the Calphalon Contemporary Cutlery 10-Inch Steel to replace a much-used (and badly worn) steel that I received as a gift many years ago. I was very pleased with the quality and heft of this steel. It fits perfectly into the slot in my knife rack, too. I immediately started honing all the knives in my knife rack and was delighted with how sharp they turned out. Every slicing/dicing chore is now a pleasure because I know my knives have been properly honed to maximum sharpness. The shape of the handle fits very naturally into my hand for a firm grip. The price was certainly right. I highly recommend this cutlery steel and advise using it prior to each time you use one of your knives.
