This is a great deal for Calphalon. I love the sturdiness and how heavy it was, BUT... the downfall is that it rusted on me. I didn't soak them in water and I washed them immediately after using, but I must not have dried them enough. Regardless, the writing on the knives says it "does not stain" -- but it did. Both of the knives. It was still sharp, but hard on the eyes. I took them back to Bed Bath Beyond and a VERY nice Sales Woman gave me a new set. I am happy again. I just have to be very careful this time. If I were all of you, I would buy these from a store that has a satifaction policy like BBB. Just something to consider. Great product. Sharp and dependable and durable. Just the rust part was an issue. Never on the blade. Just on the top part of the steel and going towards the handles.

I have the full set of Calphalon pro knives from a few years ago. This two knife addition is a welcome one. The Sankotu knife is ideal for chopping and slicing. It also has and keeps the sharpest edge in my whole set. The paring blade is also a quality knife and now used as a "new" spare for my older one. I'm happy to have one.

Why this set doesn't cost 3x the price I don't know, but these knives are great at any price.

Good value. I wanted to add a santoku to my Henckels 4 Star set, but the price for a Henckels 7" santoku was 4 times the price of this two blade set. Balance is good and grip is comfortable. Full tang through handle. Easy to put an edge on and holds it as well as any knife I own. When comparing it to the Henckels set, I believe no one other than a metallurgist could tell the difference.

This product is absolutely great. They stay sharp and make short order of anything....
