This is a small bladed knife. It also has a really useful handle. It is constructed of the same high quality materials of all knives in this series, and is a worthwhile addition to any kitchen. It's one of those tools that find more and more use with experience. It's a good buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars When nothing else works... try this., June 9, 2008

Calphalon's line of kitchen knives have proven themselves over and over again to me. And this one continues the line. This is the perfect tool for when you can't use a peeler, and a straight knife doesn't fit (like peeling certain fruits and vegetables). The blade stays sharp, the handle fits like a glove. Simple, sturdy, elegant, and very useful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Precision Tool, November 2, 2006
This review is from: Calphalon Contemporary 3-Inch Bird's Beak Paring Knife (Kitchen)
For cooks with panache who believe in the right tool for the job, this parer is it. I especially appreciate the well designed handle with perfect weight and balance while the blade length and curvature are perfect for much more than just peeling a potato! Not for the careless user however, since the edge is honed to a surgical precision, and should be treated with due respect.

All together a comfortable, easy to use tool. I highly recommend it.
