This is such a handy sized pan. It is great for one grilled cheese, scrambled eggs or omelettes for one and any small sauteeing job. I like the Contemporary Nonstick series from Calphalon because I have never had any success using the anodized type of pan, this is the more traditional non-stick and I am happy with it. I've had several of this series for over six months now and the surface is holding up fine, no deterioration so far. The design of the pan is good, the handle stays cool on the stovetop and you can put it in the oven because it is all metal. The weight is comfortable and the shape is stable on my gas cooktop.

I love this pan and use it all the time. I make eggs or a frittata for 1-2 people, hot sandwiches, small quantities of sauce and can even blanch small amounts of vegetables in it. I have both this and the 10 inch pan and for a 2 person home I use this 8 inch pan most often. If you have a larger home then the 10 inch would probably be more handy.

This omelette pan by Calphalon is outstanding. For the first time in my life, I can actually make an omelette without it falling apart.

This is a replacement for the same product purchased about 7 years ago. Eventually the non-stick surface chips and flakes, but it WAS used nearly every day, and we didn't always remember to use wood or silicone utinsels. All in all, a good piece of cookware: heavy enough to heat evenly, and easy to clean (do NOT put this pan in the dishwasher). We also have this pan in the 10" size.

This Calphalon is nicely sized and balanced. However, I'm still looking for the perfect non-stick fry pan. I've used this for the last month, and have found the non-stick qualities and cleanability (if there is such a word) haven't performed to my expectations. My main use is for eggs, and they still stick, especially if scrambled. I use Egg Beaters, and haven't found that they "slid" out of the pan, OR easily wiped-clean.

A few years ago, my wife put a heavy duty Calphalon stock pot (Calphalon Contemporary Stainless 8-Quart Stockpot with Glass Lid) under the Christmas tree -- and I was hooked to this line of cookware from that day forward. As we can afford to do so, we try to enhance our kitchen's inventory with a new item or two every year. Shortly thereafter she got me the outstanding Calphalon 12 inch omelette pan (Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 12-Inch Omelette Pan).

This eight inch omelette pan joined our family just after the 12 inch omelette pan did, and it is just as reliable as the others. We usually use it in conjunction with the 12 incher; it caramelizes the onions and sautes the mushrooms for the main course being prepared in the larger pan, though it is also often used to create smaller kid-size omelettes for the younger crew in our house.

As with it's bigger brethren, we can attest to its even heating and non-stick, quick clean-up nature. Treat it right and it will treat you right; let it fully cool before cleaning, hand wash with mild soap and a soft sponge, never put it in the dishwasher, do not let it sit in the sink under a pile of dishes and silverware, don't scrub with abrasive sponges or scrubbers, and please do not use soaps with abrasive materials in them. Additionally, we like to wipe on a very thin coat of olive oil before hanging the pot back up on the pot rack.

This is the most-used pan in my cupboard - I have the whole set, but if I had to choose just one, this would be it. Versatile, easy to clean, good size. Remember to follow cooking and cleaning directions - I seared tuna too hot in one pan and marked it...but for general use, sauteing etc., it will last forever!

Have many old calphalon pots and pans, mostly hard ano. finish. Love them, last forever. While the nonstick finish works well, the new pan has an odd edge, verticle not gently curved as in old models, is "thin" in construction and has a handle that is too short and uncomfortable to grasp, unlike the old cast aluminum handles that fit your hand. Otherwise, it is a workable pan and should last for years WITH careful use.
