As a Calphalon Adonized non-stick user for years,
I was thrilled to see Calphalon come out with a dishwasher safe version
In the Contemporary Stainless steel non-stick

I did not purchase this product from Amazon because I needed it sooner than the 4-6 week wait time listed, otherwise I would have.

I felt the need to post a review however, through Amazon, because
people are posting that Calphalon actually LIES and that if you put the Stainless steel cookware in to the dishwasher it will void the lifetime warranty.

That is UNTRUE I contacted Calphalon and was told ALL of their Stainless
Steel line is dishwasher safe and cleaning it in the dishwasher DOES NOT void the warranty. - a note all of their "Simply Calphalon" cookware line has a just a 10 year warranty

Now as I had previously written I have been a Calphalon user for many years, perhaps people are getting confused with the "original" Calphalon which is the Hard-Adonized with nonstick and without and is still available today.

The Hard-Adonized is absolutely NOT dishwasher safe and putting the HA cookware in the dishwasher WILL totally void the warranty.

Now the comments on the CONTEMPORARY STAINLESS STEEL NON-STICK
These pans are a dream to cook with and clean and Calphalon had made some improvements having the stainless steel line not only is it dishwasher safe it happens to be a bit lighter weight wise (the original Calphalon) is reasonably heavy and they have now also made the handles a cool touch version a GREAT improvement!

As a note Calphalon has also done this cool touch handle on their CALPHALON ONE line of HARD ADONIZED non-stick cookware
(also highly recommended by me)
As the "ONE" also offers a smaller set of eight pieces and is about 100 dollars less (then the 599 for the 10 piece Stainless) But the" ONE" set is handwash only.

So for all of the other people thinking of buying Calphalon's
new offering of stainless steel Non stick
Let your dishwasher do all the work.

I have used many non-stick pans over the years and these are the best that I have used. First of all, they look great with the stainless steel exterior and handles. The glass lids come in handy for seeing what's going on inside your pot. The non-stick surface is attractive. But most importantly, food just slides off of these pans. When I used to cook aromatic rice in my old hard anodized pan, it would stick to the sides and need to be soaked off. With these pans, it just slides right out - I have yet to see a grain stick. Same thing with sauces. They are also dishwasher safe and we have not had any problems with them so far over the 9 months that we have owned them. But even if you prefer to handwash them, they are extremely easy to wash because they are so non-stick. They are pricey but well worth the money.

Our fabulous wedding Calphalon ONE was stolen when we were robbed, so we decided to replace it with this wonderful DISHWASHER SAFE NONSTICK line. I love almost everything about it, including the usually wonderful nonstick surface, the see through lids, and the nice look. And if you aren't a perfectionist like me, you might be 100% happy.

However, I do want to warn the other perfectionists out there that when your dear sweet hubby makes dinner and inadvertently burns the underside of meat to black in these pans, parts of the stains will be permanent. (Yes, even after careful soaking with really soapy hot water and gentle scrubbing followed by the dishwasher cleaning!) The pans will continue to work, and they certainly are dishwasher safe, just know they aren't always going to look pretty. And that is why sometimes, while I DO NOT miss handwashing our Calphalon ONE, I do sometimes miss how they still looked new for a long, long time.

Would I buy anything other than Calphalon cookware? Definitely not. Given the current product line options, would I buy this set again? Probably. But I would wish, wish, wish for a slightly upgraded version that can withstand true kitchen battles and come out looking new.

I do want to encourage you to keep your search on Calphalon, as you will be so pleased you did for years to come. (-:

I received these from my husband for Christmas 2 years ago. Within a few weeks all of the cookware that I used on a daily basis were showing signs of the nonstick coating coming apart from the cookware as well as light scratches on the bottom insides. I was very careful with these and used the caphalon utensils approved for use with this cookware only. I even handwashed them because I didn't want to risk putting them in the dishwasher even though they are dishwasher safe. I like the look and weight of these, but unless you intend on putting them on display and not actually cooking with these I would recommend going with something else.

We bought the Calphalon Contemporary Stainless Steel Nonstick set.. It's a great, non-stick finish and a really, really nice stainless steal exterior. I prefer the handles on the Anolon pans...but these are a very nice looking design and pan. They cook great, even.

We did wash and "season" the pans by warming them and rubbing olive oil into them, then letting them fully cool and hand washing them.

We've opted to hand wash these...these are the "fancier" set. We dishwash the Anolons...and I know I'm supposed to be able to dishwash these...but we've kept these hand washed for now.

These are very nice looking pots and pans, but are very easily damaged. We got these for our wedding, and 8 months later we'll be returning them as they are already not looking well.
The light colored nonstick coating is easily discolored and scratched with regular use, even though we have only used nonstick utensils and have been hand washing them. The external stainless steel coating requires a lot of cleaning to maintain. Do yourself a favor and get the ones with the darker nonstick coating, and skip on the stainless steel finish. They look good when you get them, but they won't hold up long term.
