I've wanted a 4 qt programmable for years now and i finally got one as an early Christmas present. So far I've used it once but thought I'd comment on it while it's fresh in my head.

Pros:
-food seemed evenly cooked,
-the stay cool handles did actually stay cool (but i only cooked it for 7 hrs on low),
-cord wraps underneath crock pot,
-very chic digital white countdown display,
-shifts to warm,
-4 loud beeps when done,
-looks pretty on the counter,
- no plastic parts on the interior,
- lid and crock dishwasher safe,
- ceramic interior, not Teflon.

Cons:
-only programmable in 30 minute increments,
-shifts to warm when completed but here's the catch, it only shifts to warm for 4 hours. It might not be a big deal breaker, but if you work 4-10s you might be in a pickle
-power cord 'snaps' into place, and i wonder if the prong will eventually crack, the plastic seems good for now, but i imagine the slow cooker will outlast the cord keeper.
- cord storage is a manual wrap, I was hoping for a retractable cord storage feature for $80 retail.
- can't store food in the crockpot (not a deal breaker to me, but it is to my mom).

Overall it looks REALLY sexy - but $80 is steep. If it wasn't a present I would have kept the programmable 4 qt i picked up from Kohls for $20, more simplified, but its $60 cheaper :-)

Pros:
Very nice looking unit.

Digital display is bright and controls are easy to use.

The power cord stores underneath the appliance.

Cons:
"Low" setting cooks a bit high. My test steel cut oats (cooked exactly to recipe directions) was scorched at edges of the crock where the elements heated it up. Not so in my old Rival 4 qt manual.

On my unit, the lid's stainless steel ring had a bump where it joined, so fit was loose. My test batch of oats were a little dryer than they should have been.

The unit had a large sticker touting its features and benefits just above the controls. The glue stayed on my unit when the sticker was removed. Took an enormous amount of time and effort to remove the glue residue -- even glu-gone wouldn't touch it.

The crock was very heavy -- much heavier than the crock on my Rival.

In sum, though the picture is nice, this was a disappointing product for me.

Received this 3 or 4 weeks ago. Only used it once so far but I think its perfect for my myself and husband. Its a perfect size for the 2 of us or for a small family. I really like the digital programing on it.

A bit more expensive than average, but worth it. Does not overheat - a common problem with others we've used. High quality. Does just what manufacturer says it does.

Easy to use and works exactly as described. It's the perfect size for 2 or 3 people. I like the removable crock and the ability to change the temperature and/or time without canceling out the settings entirely. What I don't like is the metal exterior. IT GETS AWFULLY HOT! The first time I used it I touched the exterior for a few seconds and my fingers stung for about an hour. The handles should be larger to ensure you don't burn yourself. It gets so hot that I would hesitate to use this cooker if I had small children or guests in the house. This issue is its only flaw, but it is such a concern that I would reduce the rating to 31/2 stars if I could.

Chose it because it got the best Good Housekeeping rating in its class.

Totally pleased with the quality; easy to use; reliable; looks great.

You won't go wrong with the this produce and manufacturer.

This is my second slow cooker purchase. The first one was a bargain basement version that overcooked all meats to the consistency of a leathery shoe. I learned my lesson.

This is a nice petite upper middle class version that cooked the pot roast perfectly. I really appreciate the counter-space saving oval shape; not that common for a 4 qt version. Ceramic pot is dense and well made. The digital timer is also intuitive to operate. See through lid is a bonus.

Here are my gripes which are not too many:
-the stainless steel exterior is feather light. Entire weight of this appliance is the ceramic pot. Any dings and the exterior will dent. Don't know how durable this will prove to be.
-exterior gets pretty hot so use caution. This also means its not very energy efficient.
-cooker automatically turns to warm mode after cooking is complete. Warms for 4 hrs then turns off. This cannot be altered, nor can the high/low temp setting be altered during a cook unless reset manually. Energy efficiency and control suffers a bit for timer simplicity.
-not a gripe, just observation: the inner ceramic pot is not made to cook on a stove top. So browning meats and sautéing veggies need to be done separately in another fry pan. Had there been a slow cooker that had a stove top appropriate inner pot with ceramic coating, I would have sprung for that one.

All in all very happy so far.
