I took a chance and bought something with out reviews. I really like the way it feels in my hand. The black portion is hard and the clear/white part is squishy. It doesn't slip out of my hand when it's wet and makes nice mellon balls. I love that it has two different sizes! Hope this last many years in my kitchen.

a wonderful piece of equipment that can be put to many uses in the kitchen, try it as an apple corer or to make small balls of dough.It handles well and is the right size.

got this after going through 2 supermarket melon ballers in the past year. this one is very sturdy and looks well made. the larger ball maker has a visible seam between the baller portion and the stick that attaches to the handle, i hope it's not a point of weakness. works as advertised and very comfy handle.

This melon baller is quite handy. I've used it to make melon balls, but have also used it to scoop out the flesh and seeds of butternut squashes and cantaloupes; it's handier than a spoon for this purpose since it's sharper and cuts through the fibrous strands more easily. I have a small ice cream scoop that I use for making meatballs; otherwise this may be a good substitute (although the meatballs would be small - cocktail size). The grip is very comfortable. The "easy release" feature is also convenient for pushing out melon balls that get stuck. Easy cleanup in the dishwasher.

Great melon baller. Like the two sizes and the little hole where you can push through. Seems sturdy and well made.

Very easy to use, and hold. And wonderfully easy to get the fruit out intact. No wacking it on the counter, or bowl to get it out! YAY!
