I usually hate non-stick pans, but I have to admit that I really like this one. The pot itself is pretty basic, but I'm sold when you add the lid - then, I LOVE it. It's perfect for cooking & straining pasta or potatoes, there's no need for a separate strainer. I did buy an inexpensive silicone potato masher just for this pot, though, so I wouldn't scratch the non-stick surface. I'd prefer it be a bit shorter with a larger base, but still, it's a great pot.

I have made it a habit of collecting Calphalon when it is on sale/closeout. I just can't bring myself to pay $75+ for a pan or skillet. Amazon has been great for this strategy. This particular pot at $50 is the most I have ever paid for a piece of Calphalon. It was made in 2005 and probably was one of those expensive pieces. It has a commercial grade handle and very thick sidewalls. The non-stick coating is very high grade. I got it specifically for my son who makes boiled mac & cheese. This pot cooks the noodles and then can strain them through a twist of the lid. It's great. Anything you boil and then need to strain can be done with this one piece. It's wonderful.

I have owned Calphalon exclusively for 6 year and love this brand. The times I have had issues (two different non stick pans and heavily used) I returned them to Calphalon and they were promptly replaced at no cost. I love this pan, it is deep enough that I have yet to "boil over". The strainer is a nice feature too.

For whatever reason I couldn't find this in ANY department store of any kind in the Pittsburgh area, so I bought it through Amazon and couldn't be happier with it.

High quality non-stick surface and you can't beat the added stability of the 2nd handle in such a nice sized pot. I paired this guy with a smaller Oneida strainer-lid 2.5 qt pot and I use them all the time =)
